What The Hell! - how many softwares exist with "niche finder" in their names?

I am thoroughly confused with the number of softwares with the name niche finder in them. can you help?
There are Ultimate niche finder(Clyde), Micro Niche Finder(Brad?), Niche Finder(Brad again?). are there more?

Can someone post the following aspects of each of these softwares?
1. how fast do they spit out the results
2. source of competition analysis - primarily the backlinks. are they reilable?
3. how easy it is to dig out keywords once we start out?

      Hi,

If you're aiming at finding niche markets via KEYWORDS, then those software you mentioned can do that (including Market Samurai). But there are better software in the market. There are also online ones with no installations required.

But let me pose you a question.

Is "finding niches via KEYWORDS" the right way to look for niches?

IMHO, looking up at keywords should be "the last step" in the process. Keywords shouldn't be the first and shouldn't be the core foundation for niches. Check this WF blog post to see what I mean.

Secondly, there are many aims ( objectives ) on why we look for niches:
-> making profits out of it by monetization ( many ways ) or
-> making original products based on the niche and selling them or
-> developing the niche further to become an authority of it or
-> making the niche as a platform for some other purposes.

So, why do you look for niches?

Let us start off with the aim. At this point of time my aim is to make money fairly. Does directly going to keywords make money? If it does let me do it. If it does not please let me know!

I never thought of find profitability of aniche first and going into. At the first look it seems like a more reliable method to make money

Do you have a product you want to promote? I usually find a product that I know will sell good and then do keyword research on it to find what I need. Building adsense sites is about the only time I will try to find a good keyword before knowing what I am going to be selling.

Basically, what is the purpose of you doing keyword research, are you trying to find a good niche to get into or do you already have a product you want to promote?

    Hi,

So you're looking for "profitable" KEYWORDS and decide the method of monetization later.

If you're confident that keywords can bring profits, then I'm not the right person to answer you. My apologies. I'm into niches. To me KEYWORDS are NOT NICHES.

But let me recommend you SEO Power Suite that covers many aspects of IM, unlike most of the other software. It is lean, mean, yet friendly. It works cross-platform. With this software, you're NOT STUCK only with Google Keywords as the base data for analysis. It analyzes hundreds of SE's - international and localized.

    Hi OP,

I'm the owner of UNF so I can provide you with the answer to your questions,

    1. UNF is the fastest among the 3, just watch this video by one of our top affiliates to see the proof:
    2. We use SEOmoz, it's pretty reliable but for SEO Competition analysis, you need to look at other metrics too besides backlinks. Note that we don't actually show you the actual Top 10 but rather a summary of how competetive the Top 10 would be. This is to save you time, very simple.

    3. As far as I know, UNF is the only one that allows you to generate 30k keywords from 1 seed keyword, Brad Callen's NF only show 50 keywords, that's 25.5k keywords difference!

@azmanar - Thank you for your advice. I followed the link on the WF post. It is quite methodical. I have a suggestion to make. For such long posts providing an outline of the process really helps in comprehending.
I am currently starting out. I dont want to shift focus from adsense until I make atleast 2000USD

@Clyde - It took me quite a while to go through all the 7 pages in the WSO I have not seen anybody replying so promptly to their customers. I dont even see the other guys coming even once in a while. How do you support your monthly expenses for SEO Moz without a monthly plan? I only wonder if this might get shut down in future! Thanks in advance
