Yes, much better.

I'd suggest offering some incentive to upgrading to the pro version. BTW are you making any money off the free version? If not try and charge the $1 and see what happens. If you are making money off the free version add some features that would make someone want to upgrade to full.

No, free users only get to make 2 social apps and 2 Android apps, not really enough to impact my income. Also in the world of social app building you do need to be slightly smarter than a box of hammers and in spite of trying to automate as much as possible...most users kinda are hammer shaped.

Difference between free and pro for a serious user is about $3k - 10k per month income. Again, only if they are outside the hammer box.

A buyer's list is always better than a list of freebie-seekers.

But if it is something similar to FaceBook Wall, I wonder if it would kill your base.

You definitely want to move to the buyer list, but this may not be the best approach.

Remind me not to create new terminology for my own amusement. The wall was the difference between 'Free' and '$1'. I figured in my social experiment that it would filter out the riff-raff, homeless people and hippies for example.

The $1 means nothing (Paypal will snaffle most of it) .. just a mechanism to get a better quality of user.

I think this is a strategy that is definitely worth testing. On the one hand, "freemium" as a business model seems to have won the day in general, but having a list of qualified buyers can be seen as more targeted.
