UK Offline Niche - Interested in promoting through Seminars??? (US Warriors can copy idea of course)

I think even if we get 5 to 6 people this will be beneficial - 10 of course would be better.

Good idea. Unfortuantely I'm too busy too make any meeting at the moment. However here's some pointers if you are looking to promote the offline consultancy via seminars in association with chambers of commerce, business link or one of the numerous regional/city business groups that I've found out during my months of testing.

Most work well in advance. What I mean by that is many have full calenders for 6 months to a year already.

Many will class you as a web designer and will not let you talk close to other 'web designers' so get your message clear you are a consultant (or whatever you class yourself as) but not a web designer

Some of the larger networking groups in the UK will get members to a seminar but they expect you to provide an evening meal/buffet and I even had one that asked for a free bar in addition to that.

Ok - we have 10 people. I think a max of 12 would be a good number but even with 10 we will have a great networking day.

In the next few days i will put up a poll for best weekend to meet etc.

Remeber all - everyone MUST have a 15 min presentation prepared as if they are presenting to a group of business owners. That is the whole purpose of this meetup.

Thanks for your input.

I think you may have missed the point of the get together. It is for those that are either involved or interested in the Offline niche (as per the cash cow thread and many other ideas) and want to promote their services via Seminars or workshops with local business owners (as per Chris Negros recent thread on promoting through seminars).

Many people involved in this niche would love to do that but have a fear of public speaking or would like a test run before doing it in front of their real target audience.

It will allow us to critique each others presentation and style and make recommendations. It is also an ideal way for sharing ideas.

When i say we will act like business owners (although we all effectively are if we r running this offline business) we are not faking it - simply acting like the target audience of the person presenting so they can get a feel of presenting to local business owners and engage in a q & a session - after all that is the purpose of the get together.

You say u cant commit to an event with a group of people u dont know - that is ok but u will only get to know us by meeting us first :-)

15 minute presentations are short yes but we will have approx 15 of us involved so we have to limit each persons time. Also in a lot of the seminars etc held by the chamber of commerce etc u only get 15 minutes to present yourself.

This get together is in April some point but if there is another one it would be great if u cud come along.

Saturday is not 100% confirmed - if more people want Sunday then we will go with it.

At the moment we r deciding on the best weekend but i'm still waiting for some to choose their date and advise their topic.
