I am thinking about creating a membership website. Likely built of WordPress "Thesis" theme (its pretty much what i use for all my new sites).

Is there any good membership software/program/company/platform? that you would recommend?

My main goal is to have a clean website that has monthly reoccurring payments. Thanks

I've yet to use mine..it's DAP Digital Acess Pass, it's owned by one of the members here. It's purportedly one of the best and I concur with that.

There are others like wishlist, and others. S2 Member ( for a wordpress site) has a free plugin and a premier upgrade.

I went with DAP as I read and researched what others were saying. It ( as I've yet to find out) all the boxes, and has some serious mojo...

Hope that helps in figuring which software you need to use.

    Regards

    DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF!!!

    jk.

Well, I'm almost finished my first membership site with S2 Member and whilst I don't blame the plugin for it's function, I think I'm just about ready to retire...I think renovating our house was easier than putting together a WSO with a membership site!!!!

I saw DAP, and I'm wondering how much leg work it takes away from what I just created...Can anyone tell me exactly the main advantage of DAP is?

Optimize Press has some cool features for membership sites built in. I'm a fan of Amember myself. They have been around a long time and they have Wordpress integration that works great.

Nope they can't be used together.

aMember is an excellent solution but in my opinion WishList is the best.

        They're two different animals really.

Wishlist is closely tied to Wordpress.

aMember is much more robust. It can tie closely into Wordpress or work with Joomla, Drupal, custom sites, etc.

It really depends on what you want to do with your web site. Is your goal to just have a blog and have everything run from the blog? Do you plan to have downloads? Do you need an affiliate program? Do you want to integrate with a forum like SMF or vBulletin?

That's really where aMember shines. It does all that and much more.

If you tell me more about what you want your web site's features and functionality to be I can tell you whether or not you need aMember or can you accomplish everything you need with Wishlist.

My best WP membership plugin (in my opinion) is wishlist.

Simple to understand and their support team is really helpful.

It really depends on what you want the site to do. Do you need to drip feed content? Does it need to integrate with your shopping cart or autoresponder? For just a basic site with protected content you don't need anything complicated.

Wordpress and a few free plugins will do the trick. If you need something a little more robust, I suggest Wishlist Member. It's easy to use and very secure.

I've tried most of the plugins.

I'll mention no names at this stage, but there's one I definitely wouldn't recommend.

For now, DAP is the leader of the pack by the proverbial country mile.

there are two elements to a membership site.

      1) Creating all the pages (including sales pages, squeeze page and membership pages) for this I use optimizepress which once you have mastered is fantastic at setting everything up extremely quickly with loads of page templates and widgets to systemise everything

      2) membership access - for this I use S2member. As some onelse has said there is a learning curve but they do have a comprehensive set of Video tutorials. The functionality you get with a free plugin is impressive and it links in with paypal for payment processing. You can have up to 4 levels of membership with different payment levels

      Hope this helps
      Cheers

But you want to set up Membership website for your products or your articles ?
You want to give the benefit to members ?
Many guys try to set up the membership for business, but if you have just published your site and want to give the free benefit, i think the products you can use are Ebooks or Premium softwares.

  • I use optimize press + Wishlist plugin on Wordpress. We charge 2 clients last week only $250 to setup so it tells ou that it's probably not worth your time I'm sure you can find someone to get it done for you for about $100. The reason I like this is because Optimize works well so my clients can take over and manage the sites once my staff gets them installed and all works well. In any case if you follow the videos they have you can actually do it yourself I did it 2 times just so I can see the process took me about 5 hours to get it done, my staff does it for less then 2 (I think).
