Anyone out there in Mixed Martial Arts niche (or related)?

Hey guys

So I've been promoting this CB product for about 3 months now and I'm yet to make my first sale! Early days I know, but I always like to see if I can improve the way I'm working.

So, I know it's a good product I'm promoting, as I bought it and use it myself, as I train in MMA (mixed martial arts). Also, the guy has a good reputation and I know the product is selling online elsewhere.

So, I'm wondering, is there anyone else in the MMA niche (or related) who may be willing to impart some knowledge?

My technique at present is:

Get traffic to my squeeze page (in signature) via Facebook ads, forum marketing, article marketing (syndication) and YouTube vids.

Then send out e-mails via AWeber, with useful information, then every 4th or 5th e-mail, make them an offer of a product which is of high quality.

My e-mail list is up to about 80 subscribers so far after about 1 month and a half.

Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks!

oh, and upon sign up to the e-mail list, the user is directed immediately to a .pdf mma training routine, which is of good quality. Thanks.

Hey, that's great, you made another
one of these useless posts. How is
that backlink working out for you?
      Making you tons of money?

No, you're still broke? Hmm... Perhaps you
should try building a real business.

      afilmarket, drive traffic this way:

      1. Solo Ads (fastest decent quality)
      2. Article Syndication (fast and long term, very high quality)

      Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. I saw there was a good post by an experienced Warrior the other day with info about how to find solo ads in niches outside of MMO, so will look in to that.

Yeah will try article syndication too. Have got one article soon to be published in the newsletter of an MMA site with a subscriber list of 150 or so. Will do more of the same.

  • Hmm, don't think 80 subscribers is enough to know whether your lead funnel is working.

How many visits did your squeeze page receive to get those 80 subscribers?

Depending on the answer, you need to ramp up your promotion. Write some useful mma articles and start offering them to other relevant sites, ezines and so forth..

      Hi

I've been getting about 25 hits on my squeeze page a day and about 5 sign ups per day.

      Thanks for the help!

That's an acceptable amount, it could be better but it's by no means bad. In which case it just looks like you need to ramp up your promotion and find ways to increase the amount of visitors you get daily. Going by those conversion rates, you can now on average expect 20 for every 100 visitors, 200 for every 1000 visitors and so forth.. Try to find hugeeee players in that niche and get them to submit your content. Perhaps sign-up to the Directory Of Ezines?

I'm sure they'll have quite a few for MMA.

Thanks for the help! Directory of Ezines sounds good - I'll Google it and sign up!

The reason why you are having trouble has nothing to do with the size of your list. You keep focusing on the mechanics of the process, which at this point is completely irrelevant.

There is no tip that can't help you because you don't understand what your customers place value on. Until you do that you will just keep going round in circles.

Thanks for the tip. Though I think I have a decent idea of what my customers place value on, as I am one of them! I train MMA and bought the product.

    Hey mate,

Think your squeeze page looks good. When I opted-in I just went to a thank you page with nothing telling me what to do.

I think it'd be good to put something here that gets you noticed, tells people what to expect next (ie. check their inbox for their free report) and helps you stand out in the inbox.

Maybe offer a link to your affiliate product -- test that.

I 110% believe you can make things work in this market. I was in Sainsbury's the other day flicking through 1 of 3 magazines devoted to MMA fitness training and they all retail for about £5 a pop. Absolutely money to be made.

Keep working it and stay in the niche. Just keep driving targeted traffic, test different traffic sources and hone your email marketing follow-up.

    PM me, I'm local.

Thanks a lot for the advice! That's strange - I thought that once you sign up, you get sent straight to the .pdf report. That's what I thought I'd set up in AWeber. I'll look in to that.

Glad you like the squeeze page. I bought a list building product on here and designed it from the advice in there.

Will PM you. Glad to hear there are other locals doing what I do!

Just fixed that - now when you sign up you go straight to the .pdf report. Thanks a lot for pointing that out - I had no idea that was happening!

That's great! Now just get that
        one good article syndicated to
another 20 places and you will
find that it not only pulls subscrbers
for you, but that they are very high
quality (i.e. they read your emails
and buy your stuff) compared to
        many other sources.

Because your opt-in is a PDF,
        articles are great... You're already
        tapping into people who actually
read (and I know there are a lot
of MMA folks who don't! :p)

        That being said, because the
final product is a video, it certainly
        wouldn't hurt to market through
        video syndication as well.

You have no idea yet just how golden
that can be. I don't understand why
more affiliates don't purchase the products
they want to promote (and at full price!)

        It is a simple truth:
        Owners are closers!

If your doing videos start doing video responses to other videos on youtube.

Like everyone else said start writing some articles that would drive traffic back to your site.
