Difference between "proxy" and "non-proxy" traffic on CPM networks like adcrunch and adfly?

I know that "proxy" traffic is a helluva lot cheaper than "non-proxy" traffic, but before I buy any proxy traffic I'd rather first understand what the terms mean, what the differences are between both types, and maybe any pros and cons?

Any help would be appreciated!

PS: Don't bother clicking my signature file; I still haven't paid my aweber invoice yet :rolleyes: but I'm keeping it there for once I do pay and get it working again.

    A proxy is a server you can use to access the Internet anonymously.
    All your requests go through the proxy, which in turn sends you the results back. From the outside, the only one visible is the proxy - there's no way to know who's behind it.

    Normal: You <-> Outside world
    With proxy: You <-> Proxy server <-> Outside world

    People using proxies are usually trying to hide themselves - although there can be a few legitimate reasons to use one, like accessing a website that your ISP is blocking for some reason.

    Note that if you were thinking about using Adf.ly, I'll save you some money... It's worthless. Unless maybe if you order US traffic which is a lot more expensive. I've made 3 different tests, and I've wasted my money, see http://www.freeway2wealth.com/adfly-...traffic-source

    Do you use Facebook ? Then you can make money just by inviting people to a Facebook group ! It's called the Instant Income System. How cool is that?

    So 'proxy traffic' is basically people who use services to browse the internet? I think I understand what proxy is now, but I don't understand how this works with CPM networks.

    By the way, I've checked your article and while I appreciate your effort to test it out for us, I have a few ideas in my mind that I may try out myself.

    Proxy traffic is cheaper because it's even more junk than the "normal" worldwide traffic.
    If you were hiding behind a proxy would you go and buy something with your credit card or your PayPal account? Or sign up to some website and give your e-mail address?

      generally i'd agree completely, but last month i did a small test with adfly proxy traffic and i slightly more than doubled my money on a 49 dollar "MMO" product....

      40 dollars of proxy traffic - $98 in sales $88.20 commission so $48.20 profit after traffic cost

      could've been a one off so i'm doing another test today.... if i get similar results again then i'd do adfly all day long!
