I hope somebody can help me. I have created a report using word and have hyperlinked some text and images. I saved the word document as a .PDF but when I open the PDF non of the links are clickable.

Does anyone have any ideas to help me. I am using a mac with microsoft word 2008. I was opening the PDF with preview.

Open your document in word... Go to File - Print - PDF button - (bottom left corner of the opened Print Window prompt) then SAVE as PDF

    That should work.

    Hope that helps you.

I'm either not sure how to convert it ( i have tried saving it as a PDF and also printing to PDF) but the links are still not clickbable. I am currently downloading openoffice to see if that helps in any way. getting a little frustrated, with what should be a simple task....

It really depends on your budget.

I use Adobe Acrobat for Mac (but it's $700).

You can use their online service for free at: Adobe.com

There are also some "Word to PDF" Mac converters for $100 or less but I've not tried any of them.

Yes, I agree with the members who are encouraging you to use openoffice. You can't go wrong with the price. lol

If you already have microsoft office you don't need open office. If you have Adobe Acrobat.

In office there will be a button at the top left that will convert it to pdf. I use this all the time.

I don't know of any pdf program that will allow the links to be clickable other than acrobat. I will admit however, that acrobat is the only one I have used.

    Hope this helps.

I have a mac too, and it automatically has an adobe "printer."

First: DO NOT OPEN ADOBE AT ALL DURING THIS PROCESS. Start by opening your document in word, then click on "file" --> print and at the bottom of the print pop-up screen you'll see "PDF" with a drop down menu

click "save as pdf" and let it convert.

Don't open Adobe at all during this process...once you saved it, double click on the pdf document, and THEN adobe will open.

    Your links should remain hyperlinked.

Good luck...if this doesn't work, let me know what you're seeing on your "print" pop-up, because the adobe converter comes with the office program, so you might have an older version or whatever...

Documents from word to pdf are simple and easily converted with open office. It's a great tool as you can edit in the doc format within the program and then simple hit the pdf button to convert it straight away! Pasting in hyperlinks isn't a problem either! A great way to create your own reports! Hope this helps you!
