Will Google find this suspicious?

I post on this a forum where I have about 3000 posts. When I added my signature to my profile there, I noticed that it filled it in for all my old posts (i.e. it gave me 3000 backlinks). However I turned it off again because I thought Google would find it suspicious and delist me. Do you think they would, or am I being paranoid?

This is just personal experience and speculation that I am going on; but I would think not. Take my sig for example (which I'm removing since I'm referring to it; but it links to a writing offer). It was added last week, and thus retroactively added to the other 2,000 posts I have made on the forum. If you post my thread title into Google though, it hits number 1 for "The last writer you will ever want to hire" (yes I turned off personal results).

So you will have to proceed at your own risk; but I think you will be OK.

not unless all your posts are one-liners to increase post count.

Shouldn't be a problem. Google probably knows better than to punish for something like that after all these years. You might experience a dance, but to my knowledge Google only provides juice for ~4 backlinks to one single place per domain and "ignores" the rest.

That wouldn't be a problem at all.... Many forums allow sig links after 50 posts so no worries about that at all.....The backlink from all posts will be counted as a single....
