Does anyone know of software that can do this ....

Hey,

Does anyone know a a piece of software that can scrape Q&A sites like Yahoo answers?

By scrape I mean you input a keyword and then the software scrapes a list of the questions that are being asked in relation to your keyword, it then outputs a list of the questions.

I know Yahoo answers is the most known site but there are a ton more, would be good to find some software that can scrape the questions from various sites.

Anyone know of anything?

Thanks
Andy

    Scapebox can do this.

    site:answers.yahoo.com "key phrase"
    site:answers.yahoo.com "key phrase 2"

you'd have to do a big list of long tails for the best results

If you are using a Wordpress site, there are quite a few plugins that will do this for you - some for sale here on the froum. Here are a couple that I found (I haven't used these, so can't say if they are good or not, but they look like the kind of thing you are after). Do a search and you'll find many more.

      Hey Val,

I noticed a few of these type of plugins but they are more to post the questions and answers onto your blog as comments and content in general.

What I'm after is software to scrape the questions being asked by your target market and then output that to a list, I guess, just basically market research 101 but letting software do the hard work and in greater numbers.

      Thanks

Yahoo Answers has an RSS feed. So you can search a particular keyword then filter it by Open Questions, In Voting, Unanswered etc. This sounds like its more manual than you want but you can get more specific as to what "stage" the question is in. Then just plug all the RSS feeds into a feed reader and they will constantly update by themselves.
