Location Independence - What tools do you use? Not use? And why?

I'm looking for input from people that actually have or are working toward location independent businesses.

I have a few of my favorite methods and tools but I'm really looking to gain from other peoples experiences and ideas.

Tools can be either software or hardware.

      I'm working towards it.

      My tools will be a laptop, digital camera/camcorder, Kindle, and a Moleskine for doing most of my work at the park/beach.

      I only blog and write hence little equipment.

      Good question James. Thanks for asking.

      Having a business that is not dependent on you being in one location, or one address.

          I would consider LogMeIn to be my #1 "location idependent" tool.

          It allows you to access your desktop PC from anywhere that has a WiFi connection. Even if it's from a tiny screen (iPhone, etc).

    Reliable internet access is always key Going places internationally has always been a challenge when I try and find wi-fi. I wish there were an international solution, like an all encompassing hot spot I can just plug in to find a satellite or something. Or maybe there already is one? IDK.
