Traffic up my site going up and now down

I noticed that the traffic on one of my websites that is not SEO optmised climbed up quite alot from beginning of April. I believe this was due to some google changes last month.

Now strangely a month later the organic traffic on this site is dropping by the day - is this happening to anyone else or could there be any logical reason as why this is :confused:

    Welcome to the Year of the Penguin. There is a lot of info on this forum about the new Google Update. Some site have been lost completely so well done on actually keeping your traffic.

    Yes I have been and that is why I have noticed that my organic traffic increased from beginning of April and now has decreased from beginning May

    Well I was just trying to figure if anyone has experienced the same and if there is any reason for this.

    It's because of penguin update launched by google. It is new algorithm update.

    Google has also carried out Panda updates the latest being on 27th April. I have also seen minor changes in the traffic of our website.
