Aweber: Single OptIn: Question/Help

Hello All:

I have an optin list in Aweber that is single optin, but here is the problem that I am having. For some of the subscribers, instead of being sent the first email in my autoresponder series, it is showing their last message as confirmation when the list is not double optin.

Can someone explain to me why this might be happening? Why are they getting sent a confirmation email or why is Aweber showing confirmation for their last message?

Do you think they are using fake email address? I have looked at many of the email address and they do not appear to be fakes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds to me like they are using fakes , did you give away an ebook or service to get them to sign up.

I had the same a few weeks back and it took me a long time to figure out that they were fakes.

I found out for sure when i emailed them , two never responded and 8 bounced , sounds like fake to me

    Robert,

First of all, you can't make a list single optin once it has been used. So if you already had subscribers on that list you can't then change it to single optin.

Second of all, assuming this WAS a new list and single optin has been set, there are still some email addresses that Aweber will ALWAYS ask to confirm regardless of whether you have single or double optin selected.

Even if you have single optin selected there are certain email addresses that are ALWAYS going to have to confirm, regardless.

This will also be the case if you are trying to submit the form various times from the same IP address.

All of this is to help protect your deliverability rate.
