Domain Name Appraisals - Suggestions

I have the following list of domain names, and only developed a few of them.

Can some of you appraisal experts give your opinion?

And if anyone has ideas how some of these may be developed, I'd greatly apprecite it.

back4.com
choozy.com - Review site?
duelz.com - developing a debate forum
erodz.com
estreetz.com
haveon.com - Clothes?
holdz.com - Wrestling/MMA?
lizardz.com - Made into pet/animal site
lubz.com
mix2.com
mrhaze.com
norayz.com - Sunglasses?
pheeds.com
sale4.com
shysky.com - Great branding name - Two 3 letter words that rhyme
truk2.com - Redirect?

tweedz.com - Great for any twitter related site

WeSew.com - Maybe the "perfect" brandable domain name. 5 letters, makes two real words. Spells the same forward and backward, making it pschychologically very easy to remember. All letters next to each other on keyboard, making it easy to type and remember.
widers.com

Note: .net
seedz.net

All are at least a few years old. I'll probably put most, if not all, up for sale soon and would like any advice, suggestions you gan give, such a "worth", should it be developed first, where/how to sell, etc.

    Hi Kurt,

Can't help you with the appraisals but I do have some suggestions.

Feel free to ignore and disregard! LOL

    choozy.com - dating site
lubzs.com - adult lotions and potions
mix2.com - specialty site for drinks with only 2 ingrediants
    estreetz.com - local download maps
    pheeds.com - pet food recipies
    shysky.com - astronomy site
truk2.com - adventure travel packages for people with 4x4's

That's all I can think of for now, but if I come up with more, I'll
    let you know.

    duelz.com - $30
    lubz.com - $30
    pheeds.com - $40

The rest aren't really worth anything. Reg fee at best. Domain names are almost always worth a lot less than people realize.

That's funny, I've had offers for Choozy.com, both over $200 (one about $500) without ever putting it up for sale.

Where can I find more 4 letter domains like lubz.com that make a "word" for $30? I'd like to buy a bunch of them.

Try eBay or Namepros.com. You could get a lot of names like that very cheaply.

Anything that's more than five letters and isn't a dictionary word is generally not considered premium and isn't valued very high among the domaining community.

You can get high dollars for domain names that make a sound (like Frippy.com) occasionally, but that's an end user sale which is valued differently. End user sales are a lot more random and you don't know when you'll be able to sell your domains or for how much.

Thanks...But I went to eBay and all I found were 4 letter domains like:
      QSGO.com
      OHQQ.com
      WIXJ.COM
      ISYG.com
      RQKH.COM
      UOBZ.com
      LDKW.com
      XHVP.com

None of them made a "word" like Lubz.com does.

Part of the problem with domain values is making sure the correct parties are involved...For example, a domain like Lubz.com put up for sale on Sitepoint may have one value...But, if major oil change companies in the US were contacted, the domain value could esculate dramatically.

If you were the IM for "Greasemonkey" and knew "Jiffy Lube" also knew the domain Lubz.com was for sale, the price could increase greatly.

Truth is, if you have a national print/radio/TV campaign, a short 4 letter "word" type domain like Lubz.com can be very valuable.

The key is how to contact the decision makers for these two companies???

    Kurt,

    shysky.com - sky diving site.

Why are you asking for value advices? Based on your replies to Derek, you know already that no one can really give you a price. And when someone did, you didn't like it and argued about how he is wrong...

To create a discussion on the value of domain names.

Also, I asked for "experts"...I want to make sure someone knows more than me before I accept their expertise. If expert advice is asked for, why shouldn't a person have to establish their expertise?

And what you call "arguing", I call "debating" and "discussing". If you don't think there's anything to learn from this thead, move on.

I find most "experts" only focus on keyword type domain names and truly have no understanding of what a good, brandable domain name really is. And the more an expert someone is with domains, the more value they will see in the list I gave.

Give me a keyword based domain name of the 100 largest companies on the web...Google? Yahoo? Amazon? (Not a keyword for books), eBay...What does ebay have to do with auctions?

A domain like Paypal is great, as it tells us what it is, repeats letters so it's easy to type, contains two real words, is short.

But the key to the domain name is they all add up so that Paypal is easy to REMEMBER.

ShySky is a very similar domain to PayPal...6 letters, two short words, that repeat letters. A REAL expert will see the value in this domain name. The truth is, this domain could be a very powerful advantage for a number of industries. But only an expert would realize it.

Keyword related domains are good for one thing, and and one thing only: search engine marketing. Yet, they are all most marketers focus on.

But keyword related domains are useless and actually can be a hinderance for every other type of marketing there is, especially off-line marketing.

Maybe there's something to learn from the BILLION dollar sites and ask why don't they use keywords in their domain names? Maybe Google should change to good-search-engine.com? LOL

      Hi Kurt,

nice thread, I was looking too for this kind of info!
I'm no expert in domain appraisal, but I do like to brainstorm

So here go my wacky ideas:

back4.com : "Back 4, London based collective, design and manufacture products and
presents ready to purchase online". Maybe they're interested in buying your domain?

choozy.com : "choo-choozy - 1 definition - When a female acts as if she is too good to
show a male, who shows interest in her, any attention"... a dating site sounds like the
      natural choice

duelz.com - Duelz Enterprises, Inc. is located at 8064 Joseph St Sneads, FL 32460
Maybe they're interested in the domain! Or maybe a gaming oriented site - there are
lots of games in which people can have a duel, maybe a "ladder" tournament for some
      game or something like that?

erodz.com - "Erodz Custom Hot Rods - turning ordinary cars and trucks into dream machines"
Like the others above, they might be interested in a shorter domain

estreetz.com - racing game reviews? Like GTA, Test Ride unlimited etc

haveon.com - "chiefly British : to trick or deceive intentionally" Practical jokes portal?

      holdz.com - Wrestling/MMA, definetely... if you want I own pro-wrestling-power.com

      lizardz.com - Made into pet/animal site

lubz.com - "1 definition - Lubz is a cross between Loves and Lumps it is used to define
something cute."... so, I guess, a cute stuff ecommerce website? Or maybe a tourism site
for Lubz in Germany...might be an interesting place, their coat of arms is a bull sticking his
tongue out at you: Lübz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

mix2.com - like Budd said a cocktails website... or a deejay oriented site...

mrhaze.com - Swedish rock group and a new french roots reggae dubmaster... as above
they might be interested in their own domain...

norayz.com - wow, if you google norayz this thread comes up as fourth result: how fast is
the googlebot??? but back to brainstorm, sunglasses sounds just fine...blublocks, norayz...
      sounds right

pheeds.com - well... as you very well know...possibily better than anyone else around...
      feeds?? eheheh

sale4.com - botany? PLANTS Profile for Sarracenia leucophylla (crimson pitcherplant) | USDA PLANTS

truk2.com - romantic travels to the truk lagoon? sport diving on the wrecks of Truk Lagoon, Chuuk, Micronesia

tweedz.com - twitter stuff sounds reasonable...

WeSew.com - Wuxi Wesew Garment Co., Ltd is a foreign invested enterprise. There are
more than 100 staffs today... etc etc, maybe they'd like your branding idea... I think it's
      brilliant!

      widers.com - i understand e z widers are a smoking paraphernalia and (although I haven't
reserached) probably smokers could be a profitable niche...

seedz.net - this is easy... gardening site?

      Hope this helps

Very interesting tool... I'm having some difficulties understanding it (I tried using the
"hosting" keyword but it replied "no matching data")... I guess I'll have to play a little
more with it before finding some useful results - pretty much like it happens when you're
looking for good domains to buy

Here's another interesting free tool I just found and played a bit with:
Free Domain Appraisal, Domain Valuation and Keyword Research Tool
i've already found some very interesting things about a couple of domains I own

AAARRGGGHH... the Estibot tool just told me that one of the domains
    I've just sold is worth:
    EstiBot.com Domain Appraisal USD 3,700
and obviously I've sold it for a LOT less... Grrrrrr.....

Lesson that everyone should keep very dear to their heart:
ALWAYS (always always) do your due reserch... you NEVER know!

Uff... sob sob... sigh sigh... Only consolation is that someone (who
I hope is a nice person!!!) has just got the bargain of his life... and
that maybe this "automated" appraisal is not reliable... bah...
