Question about hosting for your domains

For those that have more than one domain you use, do you use separate hosting for each domain or do you host with multiple domain hosting?

I host all my domains on the same account with multiple domain hosting. Very easy to do but may not be the best option if you have an authority website.

I host a number of domains on one hosting site - to be completely honest its the cheaper option but I will probably change this as my business grows - cheers

At the moment I have hosting in 4 different places (have just "rationalized"/"reduced" from 5), but I host multiple sites in 3 of the 4. Why are you asking, Brian?

I was just wondering if there were pros and cons. I was going to open a hosting account that allowed unlimited domains.

Being new to all this. I'm trying to figure out how that works and save some money too starting out.

I use all of them with the same hosting =) There is no point having so many hosting accounts with various companies if you have found the best!

I use many of my domains on the same account. I host something like 10-12 domains (affiliate sites) as addon domains per account. There are sites with heavy traffic where I only host one domain on one VPS, or one dedicated server.

My preference is a reseller account with a seperate account for each domain name.
All the domains can be managed from one place but each has its own portal and cPanel.

It also makes it easy when I flip as site as I can just peel off the info I need to send to the buyer fast or even just add them as the new user. Transfer a site in 2 seconds.

Its host gator reseller plan, maybe a little more expensive but worth the few extra bucks.

Earlier, if you wanted to host multiple websites with separate domain names, you either had to pay for separate web hosting accounts for each domain or setup domain forwarding. Buying a separate hosting account for each domain name is of course expensive and there are some annoying problems with domain forwarding which can make your site look quite unprofessional.
But now there is a new trend with website hosting providers. They are starting to enable you to have multiple domains and multiple websites on a single cheap account. When you want to set up a new website, just add a new domain name to your account and voilá! - you get yourself a new website for the price of registering a domain. And I am not talking about parked domains, forwarded domains or subdomains - these are independent domains which, to your web site visitors and search engines, look like completely separate websites.
