What's your WSO bumping criteria?

by Peggy Baron 8 replies
WSO Serial Bumpers,

What criteria do you use to decide whether to bump your WSO or not?

Do you just keep bumping as long as it's making you XX amount of money? Or do you give it a time frame and then up the price and put it out there to the world-at-large?

Also, what page do you let your WSO get to before you bump?

I just wondered what others do...

Thanks,
Peggy

Peggy, it depends on the WSO.

If it's a limited offer (such as X units available) if it keeps selling at least more
than what the cost of a bump is, I'll bump it.

If it's something that has an upsell as well, then I may keep bumping it
until they're all gone figuring the upsell will cover the additional costs.

If it's just a regular WSO (no limit on units) then I'll just wait until sales are so
few that it appears it's run its course. That's kind of something you get a
feel for when you've run a few of these.

Thanks, Steve. Hmmm... didn't think about the upsell in my criteria. See... I knew I'd learn something.

A P.S. to my above post - does the number of views factor in for you? i.e. do you care if the WSO post has a flaming icon?

      Thanks,
      Peggy

All I look at is the bottom line. Views don't matter if they ain't buying.

I think Steve hit it spot on. It really depends on the WSO. A copywriting WSO might be for only one or two Warriors (or whatever slots the copywriter has available at the steeply discounted price). Someone might have X number of membership slots available at the WSO price and once they are gone, the WSO is no longer bumped.

For me, my criteria is a little different. It all depends on how many martinis I've had to drink......

Well Peggy I still am a coffee man, but because it really irritates my stomach I've had to cut down bigtime. In fact, I'm not supposed to be drinking martinis either, but hey, they irritate me less......

Well I wouldn't want you irritated, Rod, so I'll drink both the coffee and martinis for you.

So do you have a magic page number your WSOs fall to before you bump?

          Peggy
          .

            .
I didn't have any magic page number. Sometimes I wouldn't bump it until it hit page 6! I don't do WSOs very often, I do them mostly to give back to this forum because I've gotten a lot out of it and its members.

Hey, try some coffee with half a shot of Bailey's and Kahula, of course add more to suit your taste......but that combo is one of my favs!

I have run 3 WSOs and bumped all of them as long as they continued to make money. However, at some point I will stop bumping in order to convert the products to a clickbank product at which point I will raise the price and see what can be made through that merchant.

With a cost of $20 you normally only have to sell 2 or more copies of a WSO to continue to make a small profit which is what is important at the end of the day.

Thanks for your insight, Tim. This is excellent info.

And at what point do you bump, i.e. when your WSO gets to what page number?

                Thanks,
