What Should I Offer In An Opt-In Page For These Guys? Problematic market?

Hey Warriors,

This is the first time that I need help so I decided to ask you guys a question.

I'm currently promoting the "Satellite TV for PC" software and my question is:

I have lots of traffic coming in for more than a month now. I think that I have something like 100 hops a day, but in the start I had 100's of sales, and recently I get one sale in about 8 days and I'm not happy with this as you can understand.

I sent all this traffic directly to the publisher. Now I decided to take over the traffic and make them to opt-in to my aweber account like I do in all my other lists. The problem is I don't know what to offer in the opt-in page as a free gift and don't know even what to do with that list after they have opt-in.

I can write anything I want and I don't have any problem of writing eBooks in less than 3 days, I just don't know what to do.

This is the first time I ask for help here, so any help will be deeply appreciated

Ask some open-ended, brain-stirring questions to yourself. One that comes to mind ( it'll allow you to put yourself in your NICHE prospects shoes ) is:

If I was in the market for this software, what else would I be interested in ?

What do people, who want to get satellite channels via their PC, have a need for?

What's the make-up of somebody who can sit and stomach TV on a PC screen instead of via the normal sit-on-the-couch and watch method?

Hey Barry thanks for your answer.

Believe me that I know how to market and where to market but I don't see anything related to this. I'm looking for something that will fit for more than 2 weeks and nothing come up.

What I want is suggestions for product and not how to train myself because I'm well trained.

Thanks anyway, I really appreciate yours help.

Mike, get your EGO out of the way...or... better yet, go back and re-read my advice. You asked for guidance on how to figure out what to give away or offer on your landing page.

My advice wasn't telling you HOW to market. You original post had nothing to do with needing help on how or where to market. I understood that much.

I was telling you to START THINKING, while not relying on your past knowledge or skills... in other words, if you TRULY had or will ask yourself those questions, you'll get your suggestions without having to rely on others.

Bottomline: put yourself in your prospects shoes and you'll KNOW !

      Get it ? I hope so !

...I think the bigger question is, what happened to the marketplace or to the publisher's offer that you used to make 100's of sales and now only make 1 a week?

Has it become known that the offer/product isn't good? Is there a competitor now kicking butt that you should be promoting instead?

    Anyway...

I don't know the market or this offer specifically, but right off the bat:

Warning: 10 Things You MUST KNOW Before You Even Consider Getting "Satellite For TV" Software

(Then write a simple report endorsing the offer you're promoting that lists 10 things they should know, and promote similar offers in your followup emails if they don't buy the original product.)

    Added Update:

-Ah, well that answers my original question in my post. As I said, I know nothing about this product... If sales are down because potential customers found out that the product doesn't work, move on...

    Hi Mike,
Have you considered a simple "How To" on
your product? Sorry for my ignorance on this
    product, but something like...

"7 Strategies for Getting the Most out of your Satellite TV"

Just following the Perry Marshall Logic of...
"No one who bought a drill needed a drill. They needed a hole"

This is a non-threatening and informative report which may
encourage your readers to opt-in on the promise of getting
useful information about the product they have an interest
    in already.

In the absence of a suitable product after much brain-taxing,
perhaps this is the easiest alternative. Give them some practical
info on exactly the product you wish to sell them.

Do you use the software yourself? Why not offer a review of it. Include some sample screenshots of the channels available, a list of channels, categories, languages, etc

First let me tell you that ezinearticles has removed it because google removed it to prevent fraud. Lots of people had complaints about this software. Let me tell you that I did tried it and didn't liked it because there is nothing to watch really. Lots of people from around the world do love to watch it because the're buying it like crazy. Before I even had the time to understand what this software is, I had 5 sales waiting for me in my account. If people were complaining that it's crap they should be asking for their money back don't they?

So how you can explain that I've made lots of sales and I got only 3 refunds?

I guess that there are people who find it useful. As you probably know, when one cow goes into one direction all the cow's go after her. Why? No one could possibly understand.

First of all, there is no question if this product is a scam.
They advertise a lot of channels on their sales page that you can't watch using their software and you never could. Let me be technical for a moment: that "software" is just a collection of shortcuts for Windows media Player and Real Player for online streaming sites. A lot of those sites are only ads for full channels, not the channel itself, especially those non-English channels that you suggest 'people like to watch'.

What you're doing is unethnical - you know the product is bad and the sales page is misleading but you sell it "because it sells". You got 5 sales before you knew what the program is? So what did you say in a presell "folks I don't what this software is but sounds cool"?.

How I explain that you get so much sales? Simply the demand in searches through Google is (still) huge. There are bunch of bad article marketing WSO's who suggest it's their huge success they get traffic in this niche but the truth is it's very easy to get traffic in this niche.

Why you don't get more refunds? For many reasons combined. For example, some people don't know how to install the software and think it's their fault.

Well thank you guys for those great answers. can someone try to get an idea what to do with the list after they subscribe?

      Yes there is. Lots.

      - x10 video senders, pc-to-tv cards: why be stuck watching a little screen?
      - promote netflix for VOD then follow up w/ the rogue and other enabled players.
      - slingbox
      - video cards, sound cards, speakers
      - software to record the streams or how to reports
      - wireless keyboards like the dnovo mini

If you sold the software, you could follow-up w/ all of this and more.

For the opt-in, you could also offer a comparison report.

I would do a guide to watching TV on your PC.
    1. Get into your prospects head and asnwer there questions - the big one they have is "is it legal?"
    2. Plus giveaway the sites broadcast TV use. In the UK we have the BBC iplayer etc.
    3. Finally embed into the free pdf ads for the products wirh your clickbank id and create a viral report that you encourage them to pass on. See my sig for how to create such reports,
    4. Then goto Scribd and upload it to start it off.

First let me tell you that what sells I'm selling. If it's ethical or not don't really bothers me because I use some of the traffic techniques I know and not offering this to my list. People who buy it will buy if it's from me or from someone else's affiliate link, they want the software and I'm just leading them to the publisher website.

If you'll be ethical with everything that you do, you'll leave thousands of dollars on the table. You should be ethical with the people around you and of course with your list, but you can't be ethical in any way you go, it's just being dumb.

But if you don't care, we really got of the track here so lets come down

I will construct an ebook on how to get the most out of this brand new software. Why you don't need to pay for cable, Ways to connect your software to your tv. Somethings like that people would be interested in. If people are interested in watching tv from their computer they would also like to know how they can convert this software to their own tv.

I'm not sure how you do this but I have heard of some people doing this with these softwares.

Sounds like a great profitable idea, maybe consider a simple "how to" guide on using your product? I'm not too familiar with your chosen product but maybe a list of tips or techniques to go with it. Starting with a listing in the title like "5 Easy Techniques For Optimizing Satellite TV". Using the how-to guide format can make readers want to pursue even further useful information about the product they have a great interest
in already. Practical info regarding the product you offer may be the way to go! Just my 2 cents!

If you'll be ethical with everything that you do, you'll leave thousands of dollars on the table.
Actually, you're missing the real money. Completely.

Any idiot can sell a scam.

But when you establish TRUST with your market, then you've got power. Your emails, your products, your articles and everything you do will pack a serious punch. JV's will land in your lap.

And the majority of your customers will buy from you multiple times.

Not only that - you won't need to continually rely on front-end traffic.

If you're just scamming people (essentially), then you'll always have to rely on finding more and more suckers to fleece.

And it will be a never-ending, uphill battle for you.

The biggest myth ever is that ethical marketing is "hard".

It's actually a lot easier. Less effort.

    You'll make 100x as much.

    Joke's on you...
