Banner Advertising: Is this a good deal?
Someone in my niche on a pretty well respected site is offering prime banner ad placement, 647X80 space at the top of their website, on all pages.
I know that "testing it out" is the ultimate answer, but want to get an idea on what he is charging, to see if it is even in the ball park of what might be normal.
He is charging $290 per month, and the website gets about 90,000 'hits' per month. He uses the term hits, but I think he means impressions because he uses a screen shot of his Google Adsense for a recent month as the proof, and I'm pretty sure that would show how many times his Adsense has been shown; so 90k impressions, not 90k unique visitors.
I guess that boils down to about 3/10ths of a penny per impression. Good deal? Bad deal? Thanks for any help.
