in the pdf format using a php script that will force the browser to download the file and not view it.

Also we are using Amazon S3 for creating expired links.

This is fantastic if you want to give it away and never know who is downloading it from you. I can find public folders with PDFs all day long straight from the Google search bar.

I tend to deliver mine through aWeber. I like to know every single person who gets his or her hands on my stuff, so I'll have them opt-in and then it's automatically emailed to them. If the file is big, I'll zip it; otherwise I just deliver it straight to them.

I use e-junkie to sell my ebook PDF file.

Once the customer pays, they receive an automated email with a download link in it.

I guess it depends what is in the pdf when you decide whether to make it easy to get or not.

I make re-brandable reports and want those as easy to find as possible. For products that are purchased, though, of course you need to think about security in the way you deliver.

I think you may be talking about putting your pdf into a zip file with other bonuses inside. This little trick is used often and gives you the option to promote other offers without having to hard sell your prospects. Personally I like to just give them what they asked for without any hidden extras. It may be just me, but I don't like to offer bonuses for people signing up to my list. I will let them know I will be sending them some cool stuff but if i tell them they're getting an ebook...that's exactly what they get. Free bonuses given to the prospect are usually crap. If they where any good, then we would not be giving them as bonuses, we would be including them within our initial offer.

I hate when I sign up to someone's list and they give me free bonuses, they are always rubbish and just add to all the crap on my harddrive that i never get around to using. All i bloody want is what i signed up for...that's bloody it. If your bonuses are any good then you can send them to me at a later date and I'll judge right then whether they're any good. Am i rambling again?
