Hi, I'm facing a problem that I think many others may have had, I'm in the planning process to launch an online biz idea, and even though I know quite a lot about IM already everyday I keep finding things that I didn't know, so I spend my time with this. Seems like I will never learn it all and I feel I want everything 100% planned and ready before launch.

Thing is, should I keep learning and learning and then I start putting my idea to practice??? Or I should get on with it now, isntead of trying to have absolulately everything under crontol before launch???

Hope to have made me understood, english is not my first language!
Has anyone been in this situation? What did you do and was it the right decision?

Thanks.

I agree with what the person above me said. Get your site up, do the best you can, and work on learning more after that. If you wait til you know everything, you'll never do it.

Take Action buddy - if there's one thing that fetches results (positive or negative), it's action.

You can not only learn, but also learn best if you make mistakes. So do not get deterred if you aren't perfect on the first attempt. We all have been in that position.

There's really no sense in trying to perfect every little detail in your content, in your design, or whatever. Stop being a perfectionist.

Doing is the best way of learning.

  • I agree with what everyone is saying. If you wait until you have learned it all you will never launch as it is impossible to learn it all. Things change daily. So the best thing to do is to take ACTION!! I think you will learn a lot more from doing and making mistakes then you will by reading. It is OK to not be perfect. Just Do It!!

Take action is the only way. Perfection must be avoided. You will never move if you wait until 100% and the truth is there is no 100% because it will constantly evolved based on your situation and other changes. I also perfectionist and i try to learn to prioritize what matter first, launch and then fix it from there.

Take action and you will learn at the same time, and you will learn even more crucial skills you wouldn't have acquired if you didn't took action!

dont worry we all go through this stage of wanting to know everything before we launch

    its perfectly normal

but you have to do is get the basics done then launch, if you mak a couple of mistakes dont worry

my first wso i really messed up my funnel but because it was my first wso but i didnt make that same mistake for next wso for sure

    its all a learning curve

as they say "dont get it perfect, get it going"

They are several sickness that we all have to face in IM like information overload, procrastination, paralysis of analysis and perfectionism.

One way to overcome them is by implementing reward system to yourself. As an example I will go for vacation if only I finish my current project.

Or you can put some fear in yourself. As example I will lose my my monthly subscription of XYZ membership site if I did not finish it now.

Back to the topic. You will always can get feedback from your customer later and you can improve yourself from there. The nice thing is you already ready to produce next product compared to waiting for the first one to be virtually perfect.

    Good luck.

P.S. My English also bad but I keep writing and speak English everyday. We do a lot of writing online (chatting, forum posting, twitting, facebook status posting, article writing) so it is a must to improve it. Cheers.

    • The more you practice, the more you will learn. The more you will learn, the better results you will get. Do some research to get a clear picture of the market and learn about SEO and web marketing. Set up your website and start adding content. Keep searching for information about your niche and the products you are promoting. This way you can put into practice what you will learn without wasting time.

Get going now, you'll never know everything.

The majority of those that fail are the ones that never got started.

It took me a long time to get started because I was thinking the way you are right now. Just when I'd get it in my mind to start, I'd see something else that I didn't know how to do.

Do things one step at a time. Learn how to one thing well and incorporate that, once you get comfortable with that one thing, move to something else, but just getting started is the hardest thing to do.

You'll never feel it's the right time. You start looking at other's projects, blogs, and other sites and say to yourself, "I can't compete with that."

Well think about it this way, they only had one page in the beginning, and that's what you need to do. Start that one page and before long, you can have a site just like that one that you admired in the beginning. It takes that first step though to get your confidence going.

Launch now. If you keep getting ready to get ready you'll never get out of the gate. Put your project in motion and when you hit bumps along the way as we all do, the answers will come to you.

If you've got everything in place and you've learned as much as you can, then it's time to take the plunge. Fear and perfection are an IMer's greatest downfall. I've been there, done that, made mistakes and moved on. All for one and one for all my friend!
