What Do You Think About My Business Plan?

Hey there fellow warriors,

I been semi-lurking on the forum for about a year now. I made some spare change here and there, but haven't reached a level where I am generating enough money to cover my expenses in Internet Marketing. I did an inventory and figured that these things were leading to my failure.

1. Inability to focus on one project at a time
2. Getting seduced by the "latest hot thing"
3. Treating Internet Marketing like a hobby as opposed to a business
4. Lack of a coach to guide me

With that in mind, I made the conscious decision to draft out a proper business plan, and in the process, I also hired a coach to give me feedback and advice.

So far, I decided to focus on the simplest way to make money I know of - providing a service to users that they need. In that aspect, I am lucky. I love reading and writing (I am a law student), so I decided that my first course of action would be to build up capital by offering writing services to my fellow Warriors. I also decided to complement this service by writing and selling PLR.

Thus far, in this past 2 weeks, I have

1. Posted my first WSO ever since joining the Warrior Forum
2. Posted my first thread in the Warriors For Hire section advertising my writing services
3. Started researching subject areas to write on for my future PLR Packs
4. Compiled my previous work to showcase my writing for prospective customers
5. Figured out how to use Aweber so that I can start building my list

If there's one thing I learnt over this past 2 weeks, its the importance of setting clear actionable goals. The sheer amount of work does get to me at times. However, by breaking it down into chunk size bits, I find it much easier to keep me on track and motivated. Also, being self employed is much harder than I thought. I am more inclined to receiving instructions as opposed to creating them, so the unparalleled freedom I have now in setting my own course takes some getting used to.

To summarize, I hope to:

1) Raise capital in the short term by offering my writing services
2) Build up a PLR store (long term project)
3) Build up a list from my customers
4) Re-invest the money I earn into other projects (CPA, PPC probably)

It would be great if I got get the feedback of my fellow Warriors on what they think.

Cheers!

      I am tracking it through:

      1) How much net cash I am bringing in through my subsequent PLR WSOs (>$40 at least, so I need to sell at least 6 copies per WSO)
      2) No. of qualified buyers who subscribe to my list

Promoting through the Warrior Forum, can planning to expand it through my own PLR Store. Also looking towards solo ads to promote my products.

      Cheers

Here are a couple of threads that will help you out a little as well:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/mind-war...your-life.html

    (War Room Only) http://www.warriorforum.com/war-room...-business.html

I read the first one yesterday and the second this morning. I've tried variations on the first thread over the years, and it definitely works. The second is a piece of software to help you track your business.

I would change what you're doing because I think in the long run it's not going to work.

Most Warriors tend to focus on the methods and techniques rather than the VALUE you are offering.

First you need to figure what you want. Then figure out what will get you there - you won't get this 100% but you will have your first step.

Internet marketing is NOT a business - it's just a way of attracting customers and delivering VALUE.

It's like saying "I'm only going to drive my car in reverse".

You are more likely to make money by really understanding the writing business and the hiring people to do it than anything else you wrote.

Look at Constant-Content.com or TheContentAuthority.com, or say TextBroker.com . These guys are in the writing business probably making a lot of money.

But if you focus on "methods" and think internet marketing is actually a business you will join the ranks of frustrated Warriors who keep going year after year hoping something will change.

One more thing. Is post card marketing a business? Is cold calling a business? Is direct mail a business? Is bilboard advertising a business?

Neither is IM - you can use it as a vehicle to push a business.

    Don't fall for the myth.

Great job with taking action. Most people fail to implement what they learn and the fact that you took action says alot about the success you will find in the future.

Looks pretty good, the most important thing though is that your WSO really provides value and helps whoever buys it. If you start out with a bad product you will soon fizzle out as all of your customers will not buy again and there will be no customer satisfaction.

Looks pretty good. Diversification is always important, but especially in the beginning.

My income is diversified by doing SEO for corporate clients as well as building my own products. Gives a nice variety too

tayjuno, look at it from a cooking perspective.

In my house, everyday we have the usuals for dinner. On Monday it's Tacos, on Tuesday it's steak, on Wednesday, it's burgers, on Thursday it's italian dish, and etc.

Similarly, for every day of the week, implement marketing campaigns. On Monday you could do PPC, on Tuesday you could do article marketing and seo, on Wednesday you could do forum marketing and Youtube marketing, and etc.

A daily agenda like this will make you very productive, and will increase your traffic and sales fast.

Thanks for the replies guys. I really appreciate it.

    JaRyCu:

Thanks for the link! I already use daily affirmations, but it was a good read nonetheless.

    AdwordsMogul:

To clarify, should I look as IM as the means to the end? I can see where you are coming from but I got to admit I am not sure how to implement what you are telling me.

    Randall Magwood:

Thanks for the feedback. I am definitely learning about the other areas of IM such as list building on certain days of the week!
