Building a List OUT OF IM/MMO!!!! Traffic Sources?

Right guys, this is for everyone to share their traffic sources for building lists in niches that ARE NO IM/MMO. I'm fed up of people saying it's easy to build a list "Set up a WSO" "Join Safe Swaps" "Post in the WF JV Section"

Yes, very lovely, but for people who are stuck in the IM niche. Sorry, but personally, I think it's far harder building a list in a niche out of IM... Building a list of people who DON'T KNOW ABOUT IM.

So what do you do for traffic to build up your NON-IM lists?

Here's a few to get us started:

1. Youtube - I post up a lot of videos to get them noticed. Even if each video only brings 1 subscriber a month. If I can get 100 up a week, that's say 400 subs a month and then I can just leave them to mature.

2. PPC - Not something I'm a fan of, but have done before, I have used PPC on Adwords and Facebook to build up an initial list who I can test the water with. If I can make money off this trial list, then the money I make off them goes straight back into PPC and then I just keep going.

    this should give you some great ideas and start thinking outside the box rather than use the same burnt out resources and methods as everyone else

  • Yeah of course. But I don't think all of the old methods should be completely disregarded.

  • One easy way to find website in your niche that has web form.

    Google Search : "(YOUR NICHE)" "Free Report"

    You can substitute free report with free ebook, or free video
  • Another string to use is "We respect your Privacy"

    • Almost all of my traffic and sales are driven by articles submitted to where my target audience visits, such as niche ezines, blogs/websites and even offline outlets such as trade journals, magazines, newspapers, etc. This generates thousands of new subscribers daily for each of the niches I'm marketing.

  • 1000s daily? Sounds brilliant! Do you just contact the trade journals/magazines/newspapers directly

    • A couple of resources I use daily for locating new outlets for my articles are Writers' Market and the Directory of Ezines. Also the search engines can be an effective tool. For any given commercially viable niche, there are potentially millions of online/offline publications.

  • I primarily use free traffic methods, but have plans to add more paid advertising into the mix. For my free traffic methods, i do the usual: forum marketing, article marketing, blogging, youtube, ebook marketing, social marketing, seo, etc. I'm about to roll out with an aggressive paid advertising campaign soon tho.
