A word about writing content

So lately, I've seen a lot of posts about article writing on here. That's wonderful that Warriors want to go and frolic in the world of content creation, it really is. But, if you really want to make an impact with the client, you need to infuse that content with your own style.

This means you should never

  1. Copy and paste
  2. Spin it
  3. Plagiarize someone else's work
I know I sound like an old broken record here, but I think it's very important to reiterate it. Also when it comes to using keywords within an article, please, please don't start writing like a robot just to achieve that certain keyword density. Sure, it's important, but with a little effort it can be a great piece without reading choppily.

  • So true, Charlotte. There has never been a greater need for quality, original content. People want it, Google wants it and it's where success lies, surely.
Fortunately, in every field, the opportunities are wide open.
    Thanks for the timely reminder.

    Cheers

    • yes there has definitely been a big shift particularly with the advent of Google Panda, and now more recently Google Penguin. There is strong evidence that magnetic marketing will take over, or at least become a large part of standard marketing in the next year or so. This means the content, more than ever, must become part of a company’s strategy. Innovative marketers are reconsidering the traditional interruptive approach to advertising and are instead investigating how magnetic content can be designed to engage the consumer.

      content is still king.
  • This was very important before but after the Google important, it is absolutely essential now. Focus on good content, and try to add as much of it as you can as regularly as you can without compromising on the quality.

Thanks for making this post. Hopefully some of the newer people will take your advice seriously. Spinning and plagiarism is like career suicide.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Big thanks Charlotte Jay for pointing these out and for stressing out the importance of "real" content.

What I like specifically is when you said infusing that content with your own style which is a step towards a Quality content. What I will say is that Backlinks (link juice coming from article submission/syndication) - that stuff is a bonus. Showcasing our unique writing style is where we should stay and focus and I think, writing is "something" we NEED to enjoy. Readers should be our main priority rather than putting too much worries over algorithm changes.

  • Is it advisable if I search those articles in ezine which have high views and then I hire someone to re-write for me?

    • Thanks for the great post Charlotte. Many people think that copying/pasting/rewriting is okay for content. It isn't. Doing research is fine, but you should ALWAYS write content in your words only and not from someone else.
  • A timely reminder Charlotte Jay.

Indeed it would be a breath of fresh air to find fresh and original content which sad to say may be a bit scarce nowadays. Though every so often, we do find those contents that does showcase quality and originality. Indeed, I do hope that your reminders would be heeded so that we would be able to enjoy more great contents in the future. . . Not saying that we do not have them now,its just that they are a bit hard to find. . . If you know what I mean. :-)
  • It amazes me how many writers out there have no idea about the existence of Copyscape. They SWEAR they write good content and send you something back that's matching 70+% on Copyscape Premium. If you CAN'T write an article without having to copy someone else's hard work, you're NOT a writer and will never be, period!
  • I agree Charlotte. There are some unwritten rules which are good to be followed. It is best to provide value and don't get into trouble.
