Hi from a Newbie! Advice needed!

Hi guys,

I've been reading all I can on IM over the last few months, and have been steadily and consistently working on my first site.
I've written an ebook about songwriting called 'The Ultimate Songwriting Handbook' I've put it up as a download on my site HowtoWriteaSong[dot]net and so far have had some very limited success. I havent been indexed by Google yet, but I'm hoping that will happen any day now.

So far I have...

  • Created a product with a free bonus
  • Created a Youtube channel with 8 videos which I also have setup in an autoresponder that delivers the videos over the course of a month.
  • Based my sales copy on a similar site
  • Managed to get 1 testimonial from one of my customers
  • Spending around £4 per day on Adwords
My next mission is to embark upon an article writing campaign and get a couple of hundred articles in place within the next month or two.

I'd love it if you guys would take a look over my site, critique it and offer any suggestions you think might help me.
At the moment I'm averaging 1 sale every 3 days. My first target is to hit 4 sales consistently every day, that will allow me to seriously cut back my hours at the day job and dedicate more time to this project. Ultimately I'd love to be making 10+ sales every day.

Any advice will be massively appreciated!

    It's a great thing that you've taken action and put up your product.

    What is your average conversion ratio? This will determine the areas you need to focus.

    If the conversion is low, you may need to revise your sales page. Personally, I found your page design amatorish. I wouldn't buy it, thinking that the actual content is amatorish like the site itself. Maybe it's just me..? I don't think so..

    Thank you for your reply to my post, I can't PM yet as my post count is under 15. I guess I'd like to know what I should be spending daily on Adwords for a $27 product? Should I always aim to get the highest result ie Bid the most on keywords? Or should I not worry about PPC and just concentrate on SEO? With my traffic from youtube combined with adwords I'm averaging about 60 unique visitors a day, I'd love to know the quickest way to get it into the hundreds every day.

    Thanks for the tip Iworkhard. Could you give me some examples of some sites that you think look good? It's my first attempt at webdesign, so I am a little rusty...having a site as inspiration would help if you think I should redesign it.

    Hi friend, welcome to the forum. As someone who has only just started think it will pay you more to look around, read the threads, study other people's sites, and figure as much out as you can before asking for critiques.

    Hi Inbound! Well I have my series of videos up on youtube at the moment, that's getting me around 25 clicks a day at the moment. I'm hoping that as my youtube vids get more popular I'll in turn get more clicks per day too. I'm going to start an article marketing campaign soon to bring in more visitors. I'm guessing the best way to get the right traffic is to almost prove your knowledge of your subject before they've even got to the sales page. What would you think is a good daily rate to be spending on Adwords?
