Question about adding ads to existing site

INTERNET MARKETING

Hello. I am in the process of building a site and writing all my content. I have another site that has a google rank of 3 (to my surprise). There is some basic info on it but not much. It gives people a place to e-mail and has some links to my favorite sites. It was not built with the intention of making money. But since I learned about the decent google rank, do you think it would be worthwhile to put ads on it? I could add Adsense but always thought it could make no money. Could it make money even if I don't add anything new to it?

Update your site with solid content often. When visitors to your site find your content to be of good quality they will visit your site regularly. With lots of traffic coming to your site, you can sell your own info products, offer services and or sell affiliate products.

As for the ads you can not only use Adsense, but also offer advertizing space to others for a fee.

It all depends on what the site is about. Is it about a product or service that people will buy?

  It is a mental health site. Right now all people can do on it is click on a link to email me. It also links to another major website where I write a weekly column. I added a wordpress blog but have done nothing with it yet. It currently gets about 300-400 unique visitors a month.

Clarify google rank of 3.

Do you mean PR, or its ranking number three in the search results.
If the 1st, this does not mean you have any visitors, if 2nd, is it a search term with any volume?

Check you traffic logs 1st.
If you are getting decent volume, chuck up some adsense and see what adverts appear.
If some convert, consider following the trail and offering direct advertising, or find suitable products to sell, earn comm on.

Always monetize. Adsense won't make you rich from one small site but something is better than nothing.

You may be surprised at some of the earnings per click you can get in the mental health niche as well.

Do you know how to add the adsense ads?
