Is email marketing worth the time? I have a buddy who swears by it. Sets up a few one pagers on his niche to collect addies. Has any of you had great success with email marketing?

Thanks,

Think of email marketing as one tool in your marketing arsenal.

Remember that only a *tiny* percentage of people who visit your site will ever return, so you need to put plans in place to keep in touch with those people.

Email marketing is a very effective way of doing that.

That said, like all things in business, don't run it by guesswork - measure, improve, repeat.

    Cheers,

If used properly, I believe that email marketing can be very worthwhile. IF you use it correctly.

One thing to remember is to write like you are writing to a friend. Conversationally.

And dont waste their time. Everyone gets SO many emails each day that you must be careful with how you use it.

A while ago I wrote a post here about how to use it correctly. Check it out if you would like.

Your Email May Be More Important Than Your Website

Having an email list is an excellent way to build a sustainable long term business. As your list grows, your income will grow along with it. (If you treat your list well and send valuable information to your subscribers. If you send them junk and scam them, they will distrust you and not buy anything you recommend)

Once you build a large list, you can literally make money just from your list without doing anything else. You could stop all other marketing and just by communicating with your list regularly be making a full-time income. (of course it's not recommended to stop everything else, but you could)

I had a website that I forgot to renew and lost to someone else, but was still able to continue making money by emailing the list that was built using that site.

Email marketing is a great way to market to your targeted audience to generate cash instantly by a simple general email. Its always targeted, so you know you going to get some interested people to begin with and without you have to work harder to get your own targeted audience. You can always achieve better results with and most importantly grow your list to get bigger and better every day. Always treat the people in your emailing list with a propers respect, and you will prosper greatly! Just my 2 cents! :-)

    WITHOUT A DOUBT.

How could anyone even question this?
How does every single guru do their multi-million dollar launches? via email. They aren't writing articles, building content sites, etc.. they market via lists.

How did Jeff Walker himself launch 'product launch formula'? he built a squeeze page...

I think that it's all about what kind of list it is, and the numbers involved. Email is getting less effective in the sense that it's overused. How many emails did you get today?

that said, if you're sending to thousands, have a great message, and sending to a targeted list, look out!

The question is like asking if business goes better when you use the telephone.

For most businesses, the answer is "yes."

Next question is what's the most effective way to use the tool.

    Regards,
    Allen

I make multiple sales every single day from squeeze pages that get maybe 20 new subs a day.

This is the path I took right from the start when I finaly decided to get into affiliate marketing last year, and I made money within the very first 24 hours.

I think anyone who doesn't market this way is insane

E-mail marketing makes plenty of marketers hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars.

      Exactly.

For some reason, right from the start I always focused on building a list... in fact, I start building my first list before I even had a web site.

And that is one of the two main keys to all my success.

<---- E-mail marketing millionaire. What does that say?

I hope you choose e-mail marketing over other money making methods. I believe it's the best road that you need to get on RIGHT NOW if you're considering which way to go.

That's awesome Jason... can't wait to hear the results.

I had nothing to my name when I started publishing via email. That was a while back, but now I've got millions. When you build a list, you build an asset. And you build the closest thing to a license to print money that I know of.

My first list started with 19 people. It's ok to start small.

If your web site tanks, or for some awful reason it is deleted and you lose everything, if you have an email list, all is not lost.

In my experience, it's good to be prepared for the worst. Collecting emails is a good way to keep your customers even if your store/web site goes away.

    Brother ...

Building a list and doing email marketing is to me the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT part of my online business !!! ... Period !

I cant see how you could operate a successful online business and not be doing email marketing... Seriously, do not try and go without it !

I just got properly started about 6 months ago now, I say properly because for a VERY long time before that I just couldnt make money online... I was doing everything wrong and my biggest mistake ( I now know ) was not building a list !

I now have a list of around 850 subscribers.. Last weekend I made $900 profit from an email campaign for 1 product... My first $600 day !!

    From email marketing !

Would I have made $900 without it .. HELL NO !

Just my personal experience and advice... Build a list, build a relationship with the list and market to the list = $$$$$

    Good luck !
