Clickbank + Flyer = 5 Sales ($80)

I promote a clickbank product online which is struggling to say the least, so I decided to do some offline work.

I did a quick flyer design, printed 50 pages out (4 on each page), cut them out and headed off to uni. On my way home while listening to a podcast (Joe Rogan Experience!), I put them in the mail boxes which only took me an extra 20 minutes from uni to home.

The next day I woke up to 77 hops and 5 sales!

This is the most amount of money I've made marketing, so my plan now is to expand and cross off the streets as I do them.

Well it doesn't hurt to do a little extra work to get a boost in business. Congrats and hopefully you see double the results, if not more by reaching out to more people in the area.

Especially when you enjoy walking and listening to podcasts/music.

      Thanks.

    Taniwha...

    Congrats!

Doing fliers with CPA/Clickbank is a good money maker...Let me share with you a good way to accelerate your results.....

Many apartments/townhouse are setup where the mailboxes for each unit are clustered together. If you tape your fliers near the mailboxes, you will get more mileage out of each flier.

Of course, you can also hit laundromats and other places...Just think about getting more views to each flier rather than 1 view per flier....

    Leverage all you can....Again, congrats!

haha unless you want to get arrested!

But you could still put them on doorsteps or on houses!

Congrats on the 5 sales! When you start seeing more results start outsourcing so you can reach more people. Are you capturing the leads first or just sending them straight to a sales page?

Might be a good Idea to build a list this way you can double, triple - quadruple your sales.

    Congrats!

However, for those in the US, please research legal issues about this! Some areas may require a permit, or rules on what can be distributed freely to the public and what not.

I'm all for making money legally/ethically, but you don't want to just pass out flyers to the public and get in trouble.

Why is everybody so cautious about passing out flyers? It's not vials of crack, it's paper.

I've printed 10's of thousands of flyers, 11x17 posters, 18x24 posters, and placed them everywhere I could...and never anything too serious happened. Well that's not entirely true, but it was manageable.

Not gonna hijack the thread, good for you dog. It's a product, market it every way that you can.

What kind of an offer was it for and why shouldn't we do this in America? Is it illegal or something? If so, maybe I could just put some up around community mailboxes/bulletin boards?

By even saying the category, it basically gives away the product, which is against the rules (I think).

There are countless products to promote, you just have to work out what deals have the highest interest rates and other factors. E.g. Less people will be inclined to buy a guide to overcome bullimia then a guide to work off debt.

I've heard that it is a federal offense if you put unsolicited mail into mail boxes in America. The funny thing in New Zealand is that we pay kids $2-5 an hour to hand out junk mail after school.. (Minimum wage is $13.50)

Bulletin boards are a great alternative as it's little effort and can get some high traffic depending on where you place them.

Check all the threads by Bob Ross, as he is the master of all this and inspired me to try out various offline methods.

      All the best,

      Nathan

In the us only the USPS can place mail in a mail box. The mailbox is technically us property. The mail must also have either canceled postage or a permitted stamp. If you place a flyer in someone's mailbox in the US you are committing a federal crime.

This is the part everyone is warning you to be careful about doing. It's actually a federal crime for anyone who is either a) not the owner of the house the box belongs to or b) not employed by the USPS to put stuff in the mailbox. Why do you think newspaper delivery people throw the paper in the driveway?

For those of us in the good ol' USA, try putting it in the paperbox underneath the mailbox (if it has one) or taping it to the post the box is in. I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for doing this, but it's better to be able to spend your profits on what you want instead of legal fees.

200 flyers resulting in 77 hops and 5 sales is not going to be typical.

It would not normally be possible to get that sort of interest even if you were giving out free crack in a ghetto.

I agree it's not an average conversion, but there are 2 things I can see which helped it.

      1) It was a product targeting middle-upper class people and the place I went to was on the upperclass side of Auckland (North Shore)

      2) It was Friday, and everyone gets paid Friday morning

Nonetheless, I'm happy and I hope to continue my success even if I don't reach my "beginners luck" profits.

          You could:
          -travel to a bigger town
-hire a teen from a bigger town
-use your flyer to sell a physical copy of your digital info, and just deliver it yourself
-target a more populated region or country, where online buying is greater..

          hope this helps,

      Hi Colin,

I agree, 38.5% clicks and 2.5% conversions are not typical, but it could have had...

      - well-written copy, which could be repeatable
      - a well-targetted offer, which is repeatable
      - a great price, which is repeatable

        Hi Jerry,

For this type of campaign he is far better away from Ireland

Since moving to Ireland I don't think I've sold a thing to a local. If you say something to someone about the internet on the knocker, you'll hear them shout back to the living-room, "There's some man here about porn! What you been looking at ya little bollix?"

There is a determined belief here that the only other purpose of the internet is either for that, facebook or so foreign devils can steal your furniture and possibly children. I'm down south in Cork though, so the rest of the place may not be so negative towards online businesses. In the UK it was great. Here? meh!

I have a few friends up the North though, and they say it is totally different up there.

    Well done!

I come from a network marketing background, where we did a lot of flyers and posters (even though most of them didn't make us any money!)

But marketing-wise, the goal is to get your OFFER in front of as many targetted EYES as possible...however you get that offer out there.

Flyers, posters in shops, small inkjet labels stuck in strategic places---all are simple, easy to produce, cheap, and can get immediate results.

You may also knock on doors, politely state that you are giving out important info for that neighborhood, be extremely mannerly, and offer them a flyer. It takes guts to do it, but your politeness is actually better marketing than putting out an anonymous flyer.

OF COURSE you have to check local legalities in any marketing.

You got me thinking....I must put my teens to work!

Offline marketing is still so untapped, because alot of ppl just dont want to put in the effort. I would try scaling that up. Or take it a step further and stick up a flyer in a high traffic area or an area that is targetted to the product. Spend a few extra bucks to make a sign to put up on the side of an intersection. Just a matter of thinking outside the box and just a little extra effort goes a long way : )

Well done on your success, after some more trials and tests you can work out the typical conversion stats which will allow you to scale up by outsourcing and have others delivering these and earning you more.

    Well Done.
