Let's change the Warrior Forum rules - it's up to YOU

I'm sure you are all aware of the thread "Members Are Moderators"

Not everyone knows that implicit in this is that any member
can change the rules.

Take a look at Warrior Forum Rules

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ead-first.html

I'll explain.

This works on the same principle as Wikipedia.

Any member can go in and update the thread with their own
suggestion. If someone disagrees they can alter it.

To implement this feature some programming work was required
and they have used the section where it says

"The Following xxx Users Say Thank You to admin For This Useful Post"

as the place to put the names of the contributors (those who
have made alterations to the rules).

So go ahead and post your suggestions - we want to hear how
you would improve the rules.

By the way a few members do not have access to update and
are seeing a 'Closed' button.

This is because they have previously received an infraction
for signature file abuse. You will need to check your
signature and remove any hype - that is the main reason.
Then have another go at updating (wait a day or so first
while checks are done), making further changes to your sig
file as necessary until you finally gain access.

Allen needs all the help we can give him.

Could the owner of Wikipedia have produced it on his own ?

Am I missing something? I thought the whole purpose of the OP was to get everyone with a crazy sig file to change it, and it didn't really have anything to do with changing the rules, but actually reading the rules.

I second the notion. Everything seems perfect here.

Compare this forum to the other marketing forums out there and
you have to consider yourself lucky.

oops SpudDS - I guess I am not qualified to say.

All I can say is that from my limited experience things look to be OK to me !

Warrior forum is obviously the most popular ( judging by the number of participants ) on the internet. So I think this is some measure of it's quality !

          Regards,

          Geoff.

Charles, another priceless Harvey Segal dry Brit wit.

The OP has gone over my head. Unless it was Benny Hill running around with bikini-clad girls in fast-motion with that circus music playing, British humor is too deep for me to get.

Harvey, Kaizen has very bad memories for me. Before IM I was in the corporate world and Six-Sigma was huge. We had many Kaizen sessions where they would lock us in a room for a week to "improve processes" yet my real work was piling up becuse I was locked in a room drawing flow charts and throwing little rubber balls around. Now that was funny.

Why do some people think this is a joke? Harvey raises the issue of an important and mostly forgotten (if not unknown) function of the forum. Like Allen, I too had to rewrite my signature before I was allowed to put my point forward, but that's a small price to pay for such a privilege.

Kudos to Harvey for raising this.

HAHA! exactly! i'm in favour of being able to, at least, propose additional rules. sigs full of hype are horribly irritating! and we should ban threads (especially those in the main forum) which have annoying characters in the title!

      My Dear Friends,

There are rules on all of the areas of our life, doing with them will be the chaos avoidable.

I like the freedom. But I believe that the freedom is not equal to the libertinism. Everybody has to avail himself of the opportunities what Allen gives us here, but not to abuse.

I say it once more to avail of them, but not to abuse.

I believe in that WF members are grew up. It may occur that this doesn't express itself at somebody, in spite of superb videos are put up to it in order for everybody to understand the function.

And I think we are interested in the normal function of our forum and how we shall develop it, too. So if someone can not or - after a warning - does not want to behave, we have to separate from him then. Let us not court the person who does not deserve it.

      Thank you for your patience.

    Sorry Peter,

I'm just the joking kind of guy. Sometimes I just don't realize when serious threads are posted.

Listen, if you guys and gals want any changes made to this forum that will help you, I suggest reading the OP once more and posting to the thread Harvey linked to.

    The "powers-that-be" are listening!

    Respectfully,
    Allen Graves

p.s. thanks for editing my post Michael.

      Allen,

      Apology accepted.

I admit to struggling to follow Harvey's instructions to the letter, but, through trial and error I found that if you printed your signature out and ran in under cold water for a few seconds, replaced it in the printer, sent an email to Allen Says explaining your predicament, turned my speakers up to full and then pressed CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + F4 then all was fine with the world.

The last step seems to be a good solution for most issues.

I thought Havey was a little nice to enforce the rules further by having enforcement of practices.

Anyway, I miss the days where moderators are the selected few, because the forum is so clean and controlled.

Now that we are all moderators, things get a little out of way...

The problem with these 'ironic humour' threads is that after a while you begin to wonder who has got the joke and is responding ironically and who just hasn't got it.
