Well done Paypal!!!

I know PayPal get a bad rap every so often but I thought Id even up the scores today and actually give them a public 'Pat on the Back'.

My PayPal account got hacked into yesterday and wiped it out by sending it to a betting website

I'm not going to say how much but got stolen there was a lot.

Anyway, I didn't notice it was missing until today when I came to transfer the money to my bank account.

What a shock that was.

So I called PayPal who said they would sort it but it could take 7-10 working days to complete their Investigation and get the money back to me.

It took them 3 hours!

A very nice lady called me up and said she had reviewed the case and replaced all the money.

So well done PayPal!

    Sorry for hackers, paypal is not their match.

    Despite the high amount of paypal account holders, its extremely rare to hear an account was hacked.

    Lucky you, they swap on them like the Police and brought your account back in no time.

    Many people complain they get their paypal accounts limited. But my account was also limited once when it got hacked. PayPal replaced all my money in 2 days.

    People don't understand that PayPal limits the accounts and asks for the documents to protect users!

      Why would you even expect them to refund you?

      Have you read the Paypal User Agreement?
      Paypal does NOT offer buyer protection for services, and service providers are NOT required to offer a guarantee. That means that you can file a dispute with Paypal, and the service provider can simply say that there is no guarantee provided - therefore no refund required.

    Someone tried scamming me last year when I bought what turned out to be a fake Iphone from Ebay, My husband nearly fainted with shock because he thought I'd lost my 350 quid,

    I didn't doubt for a moment I'd get it back, even though the seller had quickly transferred the money to his bank account (or so he thought), I had it back within mine within 24 hours. (There is a reason why they take so long in transferring funds to your bank account)

    And I also had the pleasure of being instrumental in him losing both his paypal and his ebay account

    I've been with paypal since 2002, any minor hiccups are soon sorted with a phone call,

    Absolutely they can be excellent. Just cultivate a good relationship with your Paypal account reps. Here is my positive experience with Paypal that I wrote about on WF previously.

      Wow - I think you got lucky to get someone who was very good at their job. There is ups and downs with PayPal. I have never had a problem with them but have heard of many people who have. It's nice to hear a good thing about them also.

    My experience with Paypal has always been good as well. Last year my sites and emails got hacked & someone transferred money out of my Paypal account to his bank account. One phonecall, and it was all sorted out, money back in my account & case closed.

    It is the phone support that makes all the difference - any problem with Google, who do you phone? Emails are no substitute for human contact when there is an issue to deal with. Paypal's customer service is streets ahead, simply beacuse you can actually talk to someone.

    I have been using PayPal since 2006 and I have heard all of the horror stories and all of that for years. And I honestly have no complaints about PayPal. I do have complaints about ebay because I think their fees are ridiculous which is why I will never sell on ebay again but I couldn't get by without a PayPal account.

    PayPal's customer service just keeps on improving. Had an issue with them once and had to call them, when the line got cut they called me back. The rep on the other end was polite and resolved the issue.

    Yeah although they're not a regular CC company, a law unto themselves and you have little or no recourse if you don't like what they did, all in all where would a lot of IM'ers be without them? It's the easiest account to setup and start taking money.

    I liked paypal when it comes to retrieving money, they managed to retrieve $200 for me after I got scammed by some dude from china on a new xbox when they came out. Good ol paypal
