Should I move my GoDaddy Registered Domains?

A fellow Warrior member "elishahong" detailed the following and prompted this Thread:

"If you plan to do email marketing a lot, then stay away from GoDaddy because they have a Spam policy and they will take down your website if you violate or even if you unintentionally violate their spam act policy. They can charge you over $299 to reinstate your account. So be sure that when you send emails, you're not sending it to an unknown list that you bought and imported, less they click the "spam" button or "report" you for spam."

While I don't spam my email list I will be doing work with affiliates, anything could happen right?

It has been nagging at me for a while now as I have heard this about GoDaddy from a couple of sources in the past month.

What are others' personal experience with this?

If I do choose to move the registration of my domains, any suggestions on where to move them to?

What cautions or experience have others had with moving domain name registration?

I know a lot of the top bigwigs use godaddy and they are known for emailing their lists everyday compared to most of us that do it twice a week plus i was accused once with a different company of spamming and they pulled me down without notice so i believe they probably have very similar rules through the different companies.

always make sure you have a list that is double optin like aweber to put your mind at rest

I've seen this personally with some big IM clients of mine (one with such a large portfolio that they have a VIP rep that is uber responsive)....even in that case we had a domain or two wacked from falsely accused spam accusations.....

....if an 'affiliate' sends a promo and one of their list members complain of spam Godaddy can hold you hostage...75 dollars to move your domain to another registrar or 199 to keep it with them and then you have to 'delete' that affiliate from promoting you again....so if one of John Reese's or Frank Kern's customers complains of spam to your product you want to drop them as an affiliate right? chaaaa

Godaddy blows 4ss -- move those puppies over to moniker.com if you want a great account rep email bari@

I have no idea why you would think that domain registration would have anything whatsoever to do with your e-mail hosting and spam issues.
