I have a friend that makes very nice antique looking wood tables, outdoor furniture, swings, and gazebos.

He has been getting calls left and right about his products, and wants me to set him up a site where he can sell them.

I want to use wordpress...how do i go about doing this?

Here is what i picture...a site with sliding images up to on the home page below the header.

Below that on the home page maybe 6 or 9 "hot products" where the user can click to read about the details and specs and add to their cart etc...

In the left sidebar have categories listed....kitchen, patio, living room etc...

Can i get recommendations on what themes to look at, plug ins i will need, does anything need to be done for security? i guess he will just set up pay pal for payments?

ive never created an eCommerce site, so any input will be greatly appreciated.

On average what can i expect the costs to be to set up something like this? It will not be a huge site...say 30 products at the most...

I would like the site to look very very clean and easy to navigate.

I have experience setting up wordpress sites, just nothing like this...

thanks!

    Have a look at WooCommerce - http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce/
They offer plenty of themes for it was well, set up costs: Less than $100 including domain, theme and hosting.

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

Check out corecommerce.com its the easiest I have seen for drag and drop customizable ecomerce sites. That look professional.
