Should I build wiki pages - if so which ones?

There are thousands of wiki sites. Wikipedia is top of the tree and getting links from there unlikely/difficult. However are there anyother wiki sites that are worth the effort.

I know there are services sipinning articles and submitting to thousands of these sites but why bother. If Penguin and Panda teach us one thing it must surely be that links from authority sites, not spin factories, are better.

With that said are there any wiki sites that are worth writing good articles for to get links? If so which ones?

Yes, building a wiki page is very difficult, especially on Wikipedia. We tried several times to write articles on Wikipedia and never succeeded. But for other sites, I don't think they are worth the effort.

Really? No other wiki sites are worth it. Surely there are some 'clean' wiki sites that have not be ruined and accept genuine articles.

I've been known to edit Wikipedia but not for marketing reasons, it just annoys me when certain information is left out or portrayed incorrectly. Don't be surprised if someone comes by and changes what you've added or changed. I was in an anonymous argument with some other contributor over whether or not Isis' conception of Horus constitutes a virginal or miraculous conception. All I was saying is that it's open to interpretation but the other guy kept saying it was "proven false", which I don't think it was.

There are a lot of wikis out there. Maybe you can find one related to your niche. I use wikis for video games like Fallout because they seem to be fairly exhaustive compendiums of information about these games.

You need to be able to cite sources on the big Wiki. Your information has to be correct and, even then, it's open for editing by other people. If you can provide some sort of real, provable information then you shouldn't have a problem.
