The brand my blog is about has been in touch...

I have a couple of blogs that generate me a pretty good income. The blogs themselves are essentially reviews and tutorials of a certain brands products. I'm on page 1 right next to the brand on most of the keywords and I'd say I was probably the first place people many turn too for info on the product.

Two nights ago the brand got in touch! I have been dreading that email from a long time half expecting them to Ask me to take it down as it may be in conflict with their own community building... As their own forums and support have a poor reputation.

Anyways... The have said they loved what i was doing and want to build a relationship and have a few ideas up their sleeves on how we can work together. They even asked me to create a small product for THEM to give away on their Facebook/website to show me some support.

These guys are probably the industry leaders in my niche and if you were interested in the niche a 'household' name.

This is very cool!

Has this happened to anyone before?

Is it a Trojan horse... Or is it a potential gold mine?

I'm unsure!

    They sound like a pretty small and flexible company. Most larger companies would simply hit you with a cease and desist.

    You must not be hurting their brand if they want to work with you.

    That's wonderful. Clearly this company is forward thinking and with the right frame of mind. You are lucky to have found them.

    Several times, when other Warriors have reported take-down notices etc., from other companies, I've wondered why they haven't instead embraced people promoting their products and encouraged them. After all, they are working to create more sales for them.

    I think you found an awesome opportunity. Most companies are too small-minded to actually understand that level of cooperation. Without knowing everything I could not tell you what to do, but from your answer it sounds really cool.

    Provided you dont have trademarked domains etc, there's not a huge lot they could do anyway, but this does sound like a good opportunity
