        Hello hazyl,

Please how can you check your rank with alexa? Thank you.

And one can generate a lot of traffic with sig files and might even get lucky to rank a little bit high if you back them up with the right anchor texts.

Exactly. If you "open someone's eye's" with what you post, or if you provide solid information, people are more apt to take a look at what You are doing, or what You have to offer.

If you go around quoting people then saying "Yea I agree" and that's all or post useless information that is not relevant to the thread topic, then no most likely no one will click your sig, because you aren't providing any quality in your posts. Try not to post "one liners", you can't provide much information or quality in one sentence. Although Zul did ok with his reply, it's usually better to elaborate and give a full explanation.

Just become part of the community, post useful information that is related to the thread/topic, provide answers to people's questions and provide solutions to people's problems in your sig, and you will do fine. And don't rely on one forum, find multiple forums in your niche and become a solid member of the forums.

If you can't find any forum's in your niche, then create one if there is a demand for it.

      Best of luck,
      -Rich

It definitely works with certain niches. Just try to stay away from the "freebie seeker" niches where people don't want to pay for information. The one niche I failed in was "car repair". So there. lol

Oh, your website is not related to IM. So I doubt that placing links in the warrior forum will bring any traffic.

Precisely. You'd just most likely get a trickle of traffic from WF, though they'd just be looking at your site layout, target keywords, etc. Target keywords? Yeah, they could be your competitors, 'cause remember: This is an Internet marketing forum. What I suggest is:

For you to establish your reputation as a friendly, expert resource of useful info, advice, products and services relevant to your target niches. Where?

In contextually relevant discussion pages under contextually relevant sections/categories of contextually relevant Web forums and other online social communities/networks/groups, heavily trafficked by your target audience, comprised of people interested in your target niches. Why?

=>> Traffic quality. Traffic volume. Repeat business. Google Penguin's focus on social proof and contextual relevance...

Link signature is a strong link, use the anchor text. It makes a significant impact on the rankings in the search engine which will surely bring a lot of traffic when its ranking increases. But it does take time and process. The results can not be seen just one or two days. How many days it takes, it depends on the keyword. Each keyword has different opportunity. The important for us is keep working and working, we will see the results in the future.

Of course they work... assuming that you're on a forum in which people would be interested in your signature.

I mean, obviously you're not going to get much traffic from if your signature here at the Warrior Forum is about how to grow plants.

But if you're posting on a gardening forum then you would get traffic.

It's all about making sure you're matching the audience with the website. Do that and you're bound to get traffic.

Yes, just as you can actually get traffic from article directories.

It isn't what they are for, and it doesn't work very well, but it
is the highest quality traffic some people ever get, and so they
think it is a good idea.

Funny, if people would just use a forum for what it is actually
meant for, they would find themselves making a lot more money
    a lot faster.

Yes, it does work. It is more of a long term traffic strategy. Here are a few important basics to keep in mind:

    1. Your comments must be relevant and meaningful to the main thread topic or question.

    2. Avoid giving comments that are too short, only a few words.

    3. Provide truly valuable tips and training.

There are lots of Web forums with discussion pages about relationships, dating, parenting, home and family. There are also specialized Web forums where people would be interested in gift ideas, such as Web forums where spouses, relatives and friends of blind people are regularly bouncing ideas about various activities they can do together. Gift ideas could most likely be interesting for college students and professionals in corporate environments. Also, you could get good seasonal traffic spikes from these Web forums, i.e. Valentine's, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas and so on...

Yes it is true you can get traffic through your signature. To get traffic you need to participate in conversations, provide useful information. When you do so like this, people get their queries clarified and they may be in need of more and so they click your site. That's traffic to your site.

Does it need to be "proven"? You wouldn't use your sig if there weren't favorable statistics compiled somewhere ?

On the websites you regularly visit, do you click on the links in the signatures?

If you do, what makes you click on them? Is it the graphics? Is it a sales pitch?

Analysing what you do might answer the question better
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[6262553].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Chris-
Yes. That's the basic answer! The exact results you get depend on many factors.

The more relevant the forum, to the subject of your signature, the better.

The better your signature wording, the more traffic you'll get, so ask in the copyrighting forum about how best to word your signature.
