Is Solar Energy/Power Niche Profitable

I am thinking about building a website on off grild solar systems. I think it can be profitable if I make it be. For some unkown reason it really interest me. I actually discovered it on clickbank. I was looking for a niche and then I came across DIY solar panels. I started research on it and became really interested. I could take pages of notes that the other sites on page one of google did not cover. As a matter of fact, I am saving my own money around $3,000 to build my own off grid solar generator.

Would it be worth my time?

I had tried selling a solar panel installation program when I was new in IM. To my surprise, I found that it is a controversial topic. I don't know what the problem behind it is, but I had tried making a Squidoo lens on the topic which never went live because the reason given by Squidoo was that they don't want to engage in "controversial" issues. I think it's the uncertainty of its feasibility, but I'm not sure. Moreover, you always need to think thrice before promoting a clickbank product, especially the one with promises. Thus, I'd suggest that instead of promoting a solar panel installation program, why not sell parts of solar panels or solar products itself from Amazon.

That's actually what I want to do? Most of the solar panel books on clickbank are crap, and there is so much information that is left out in most of them.

It might surprise a few people, but that is one reason I got into IM. I am an alternative energy nerd and for the last 3 years have been doing my own research and development on hydrogen generation. I need cash to go to build a prototype. My theory is sound on small scale and produces more Hydrogen than any HHO unit on the market. I can get (currently) 1 liter of hydrogen out of .1 Amps. 90% of the oxygen is consumed in the process (oxygen evolution) which helps in the process by releasing electrons. Also heat increases the production rate. There are several methods of Ionization happening at once. I need to raise about 2k to possibly attain an on demand system (just the generator) I would also need funds for a carbon reinforced cylinder and a CNG system. So this is my pipe dream.

There are several Alternative Energy sites out there. I have tons of contacts on linkedin and twitter. It will be very competitive.

You sell parts or kits and while you're at it, you create either an ebook or video showing others how they can "build their own solar setup for $3k or less."

Despite all the hoopla and billions of dollars available in government subsidies, solar panels (photovoltaics) is still far from being cost-effective. It's really a hard sell for promoting solar products due to not only the intense competition of entrenched businesses and contractors, but you need to provide sources for obtaining these government subsidies and other financial assistance programs. Solar power has failed to run profitably anywhere in the world, compared to conventional energy sources. Currently, the real cost of solar panels have never achieved anywhere near even a breakeven point of return on investment.

If you take a look at stock prices of solar companies they are in a freefall.
First Solar fell 5% today and trades at $14.32 which is all time low, down from $160 per share a few years ago.
Renewable Energy Corp. (REC) from Norway is also at all time lows at 2.94 was 50.00 and even 150.00 in 2008.

I don't know about Solar niche sites, but I will certainly invest in Solar stocks as soon as the trend shows signs of reversing.

You said it yourself - this will be as profitable as you make it.

Build crap, and you'll get crap in return. Build something worth visiting, sharing and buying from, and you'll do just fine.

They might be profitable. As the demand of solar energy is increasing constantly in the world. Specially on the Asian countries. So this kind of niches could be money makers.

I think what the solar business is facing like alot of other new products there are scammers selling it and the savings results take years to realize where a potential customer wants to see immediate results which won't happen. Also the Canadian Government is backing away from alot of the cash incentives tothe customer also which was in recent news.

well i checked this niche out a while back and the cpc`s are very good and theres plenty of advertisers so is it a profitable niche?

    absolutely

as long as theres plenty of advertisers bidding for google spots then your good to go

solar energy is certainly the future. it may be going slow and we may not feel like we are progressing that fast but we are headed in the right direction
