As we all should know making it in this industry is as much about your mindset as it is about what you know.

So just to get people on here who think they have it a permanent wall I want to begin a thread and ask you this:

What would you do in the next 7 days if you knew you wouldn't fail?

No answer is stupid. Lets get the ball rolling. It's amazing what can happen when you talk about something.

So if you knew you could do something in the next 7 days and not fail, what would it be....
#fail

I'd do the same as Andy, plus I'd ask Google to promote me on their home page for the next year. Nothing else on the page apart from a link to my site with a big arrow saying, "Click here NOW!."

I would raise my prices closer to the prices of my competitors.

The thing is, I know it would work; last time I raised my prices, I got the same number of clients, but things were obviously better. However, I'm afraid to do it again, because I don't want to lose clients.

There might be other things as well, but this is the only one that comes to my mind at the moment and is realistic as well.

Are you providing quality in what your selling? I'm sure you are

The way I see it if your confident in what your providing and you genuinely think that if you raise your price you won't be over charging for your service than go for it!

I met Brad Gosse over the weekend and we were talking about a chapter in his book "don't be afraid to ask for money'. If you know your service is worth 'X' amount than ask for that.

You know what your service is worth so ask for it

        That's actually a double-edged sword.

I've also lost potential clients over the years because they know what others are paying me and they don't have that budget. Even when I tell them I'll work out something special for them, they feel guilty not paying my full prices and would rather not get them than not pay the proper rate.

Some people will get spooked by your prices if they're high, so it's vital that you have some sort of relationship or have established some credibility.

On the other side of the coin, I've been offered up to $20k a month for SEM services by companies that know the results I've got for others and consider $20k the going-rate for those type of results.

There's no fixed way to approach this stuff as it depends on your business model, your niche and your personality and relationships.

Some people will not be able to sell services for high prices even when others can, and some people will get high prices for stuff that's practically free from others.

You just need to decide where you stand and build some credibility around your proposition and target the appropriate prospects.

This is just a matter of making sure that the VALUE is there, and
then showing your customers that value!

What would I do in the next 7 days if I knew I could not fail?

Ensure my 3 year old daughter and every child on this planet will always be loved and always be happy. For my daughter that means long after I'm gone and for every child that means now and forever.

I realize that might be off topic of the question, but I can't think of anything more worthwhile or anything I'd rather do with 7 days of triumph.

Gee guys, he said anything Internet Marketing Related! What does that have to do with buying lottery tickects and having children loved? Unless you want to start a lottery ticket website or a love the children website or make some sort of clickbank product for them, I think you have completely missed the point.

As for me, if I knew that I could not fail in the next 7 days I would pour all my efforts into writing high quality content for my website and filling it with affiliate links, adsense ads, and dropship products and then I would create a mountain of backlinks in all those high competition, high traffic keyword niches and microniches and bank millions and millions of dollars and become the next internet marketing Guru. To me that is better than any lottery ticket and even generates more love for the children as I would be able to do more for them and mentor them on how to live a successful life.

Mea culpa. I missed the OP's clarification in his follow up post. But be fair here, Andy's reply was before that. Even so, I still want to be Willy Wonka (the Gene Wilder one and not the wierd Johnny Depp one).

Let me get back on track then: I'd like to prove to every marketer on the planet that the smartest kind of marketing is treating people the way you would want to be treated.

Now who's missing the point of the question? Of course, that plan couldn't fail!

Yeah, I knew what you meant . However I have to say that is a really good article and more people should read it. Some of the stuff that I see a lot of marketers do makes me wonder how they ever get a commission. Yet somehow people still fall for it ! Their success makes other people want to follow suit and use those techniques, but I think the little money that they make is not even half of what people would get if they focused on quality. In fact, I believe that if anyone focused on providing quality for the next 7 days, they would see success.

Oddly, there are still some people posting here that are insisting on missing the point of the original question .

What if I'm already of the mindset that I cannot fail? That's how I approach my business. I don't mean that in a superhero or "god complex" kind of way, either. I think things through, research them until I have most of my questions answered, and then launch forward with my plans.

By doing this, I'm assured enough of my success that it normally happens. Confidence is one of the keys to success as long as you don't let it become arrogance.

      That's awesome.

      I love that answer Man.

And to be completely honest that is pretty much what I was eventually hoping everyone would get out of this thread.

I was gonna write a post, after everyone had submitted their answers and say something like just get in that mindset and for the next 7 days attack those things. But now I don't have to, because you pretty much have.

I would hope that everyone who views this thread can realise that the most valuable bit of writing is just what I have quoted above

If your big plan is to win the lotto than maybe this thread wasn't that valuable to you, however if you are struggling to get going online because your pretty much afraid to fail than this information should prove to be gold to you....

Lots of interesting answers here, but I don't think Sean
had science fiction in mind when he posted this thread

The purpose of this thread, as I understand it, is to bring to our
attention things we don't do because of the fear of failure, things we
would do just if we knew we'd succeed. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As for me, I like taking risks a lot, and try my best to implement the mindset

Organize my business to run smoothly and faultlessly by hiring the best people to work for me, putting it into set-n-forget mode to run on complete autopilot and thoroughly enjoy life till the end of my long days.

P.S. That is assuming that 3 wishes by genie are not included into the 7 days )))
