Squeeze page strategies

I am quite curious about the best strategies to build squeeze pages.

Can you guys please recommend what you believe is best practice?

a) single page site site, just the landing page with free gift

b) single page site, just the landing page with paid gift

c) free subscribe option in sidebar of home page of main site

d) paid subscribe option in sidebar of home page of main site

also what kind of gifts work best and is it true that video squeeze pages are more effective than the simple sales pitch text? Also are video squeezes better suited to single page promotion sites? (I assume they are is sticking a big sales video on the home page of your main site may devalue things a little

AND FINALLY A STUPID QUESTION:
Am I better off buying a new domain name to build a simple one page site for my squeeze or can I incorporate multiple squeeze pages in existing sites and just hide them from displaying in the site but instead just use them to redirect people there? (apologies if this question doesn't make sense , basically I want to know the best strategy for placing new squeeze pages without having to buy a new domain name for each, it's not like 1 page sqeezes are going to get any juice from google serps right so I assume it's ok to just add a page to an existing site and link people who sign up to it while hiding it from people who casually browse the site)

hmmm...I've made that sound more complicated than it should, perhaps because i don't undertsand it fully, that's (hopefully) where you come in!

It depends on your goals for the squeeze page.

If your goal is to build a list, having a simple opt-in page with a free offer is good. Then you need to drive traffic to the opt-in page.

You can get traffic from SEO, or you can have paid traffic. If building the list quickly is important, then paid traffic is better. The least expensive paid traffic is from a CPV or PPV traffic source.

A lot of you guys have multiple squeeze pages - do you buy a separate domain name for each or simply add them as a page to an existing site?

Since I'm primarily interested in building a list, like Warrior Roy commented, I have a branded domain with multiple squeeze pages on it.

and what is the process for adding lots of squeeze pages to a site

say the site is "getonlineriches.com" or whatever

and you want to release six different squeeze pages over a period of 6 months, once a month,e ach offering a differing free gift in the mmo niche - then how would that work

1st squeeze page would be homepage of getonlineriches.com

2nd squeeze page would be what? something like getonlineriches.com/listbuildingsecrets (would you link this page to your homepage? why? you'll only get the same opt-in again?)

and then 3rd, 4ht, 5th and 6th squeeze, just trying the understand the basic practicalities of the process

ive found video sales pages work great

i would also recommend buying a seperate new domain for your squeeze page

when you start building a list from a squeeze page your strategy should be long term so your squeeze page shouldnt be coming down for a long time

i always give away huge value for my free gift. gone are the days when you give away an ebook. that is so 2008. these days you need to be giving away top quality stuff for free like a video course or some kind of a course

some text squeeze pages do work really well but generally video squeeze pages will be very hard to beat

I disagree about what you give away having to be a course. I giveaway free 'ebooks' to my lists and it works out really well.

I just think the term 'ebook' is a bit 2008 if anything. Provided that you can deliver/over deliver in the information you provide, I think books are fine.

I think that the giveaway really depends on the quality of traffic. If you are in the MMO niche then your giveaway tends to have to be a bit more significant because internet marketers are used to free giveaways.

With regards to your domain, you want to really think about what niche you are in. If you are in the MMO niche then you want to choose something like passiveincome.com or something to do with making money.

I only use one site for all my squeeze pages and I picked a really generic domain. If you plan to enter multiple niches this might be your best bet. Something like digitalresource.com would be good.

I believe, especially for new list builders, that simple squeeze page offering free gift
works the best. Also, if you have a blog, insert opt-in forms, not only on home page,
but on all your pages. This can get you lot of subscribers, especially those that come
on your blog from Google. As you said yourself, squeeze page won't get much Google
traffic, so this method kind of takes care of that problem.

As for the domains, I prefer to use separate domain for every squeeze page.
Especially if squeeze pages are in different niches you want to keep them separated.
For purposes of testing different versions of a squeeze page I'd create them on index1.html,
    index2.html and so on.

Video squeeze pages can work great for sure but I believe they are a bit harder to make
effective than classic text pages. People are in great hurry all the time and attention span
is short so they might not have patience to watch the video. That's why video has to be
very short, about one minute, catching their attention immediately and straight to the point.

My opinion it is best to build a squeeze page with a free ebook giveaway in place for an optin. This way you build your list and gain trust.
