Hello everybody,

I am new to internet marketing. I run an offline fair and festival business where I sell vinyl graphics.

I'm tired of being away from my family traveling and I really want to make money online.

I'm looking for help and maybe a good book or two.. Also a mentor would be fantastic. I don't have a lot of money to risk but I am willing to pay the right person for advice.

I am willing to put in the time and the work I just need to know what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and any help I get I will be a walking talking typing testimonial for you.

Thanks
Dave

Looking beyond the mechanics of setting some sort of online catalog, shopping cart and payment processing. You biggest challenge may be getting customers to the site, getting visible search listing in the search engines can take a sustained effort, paid advertisement often takes careful tuning of the ads and sales page combination to make them profitable.
One could test the waters by selling on eBay or setting up a store inside of Amazon.com, these sites help bring you customers and help with some of the processing for a fee.

It would be worth buying a few WSOs on the basics of running an online business, most can be learned without some $1000 membership.

Here's a set of internet marketing resources by an SEO authority site:
    http://www.seomoz.org/dp/the-interne...eting-handbook

An aside, many of the affiliate marketers here help sell products listed in Commission Junction (CJ.com) one of the products one can help promote there are BigHead sports graphics. While some online stores manage their own affiliate programs, paying a 5% - 20% commission on sales they bring in, other use affiliate management services like CJ, I believe the set up cost for merchants is $10,000.

My suggestion is to first learn as much as you can about internet marketing. Fortunately, you already discovered the best place to learn as much as you can about IM: here on Warrior Forum. Now that you're already getting into IM, I'm assuming affiliate marketing is what you most likely want to get into. When it comes to this, make sure to not only apply to one single Affiliate Network, but SEVERAL. From my experience, I started out with and only with Clickbank. For me personally, I only had limited success on there and I didn't start making a consistent and good income until I found what specific affiliate network works best for me personally. If I were to give you any advice, please check out places like Maxbounty, Peerfly, Offervault, etc. Many affiliate have found that CPA marketing to be much easier than CPS, which is what you may do Clickbank.

When you do find what works for you, repeat it over and over, scale it, and then watch the money start pouring into your bank account

I'm new and the FIRST thing i'm experimenting on is getting (1) high traffic keyword with low-mid competition (Something I can get #1 in hopefully) and throw adsense into it.

Of course there are other things to account but this is my test from the knowledge I learned from MS.

    You can do

    -CPA
    -PPC
    -Affiliate

I've seen affilate and unless a lot of people are willing to buy I don't see much earnings

Do it old school - still the best way to learn.

    1 - Build a website
2 - Figure out how to get traffic to it
3 - THEN put ads and try to make some cash.

    Hi,

Not having a lot of money is not necessarily a problem. Actually you won't be tempted to spend it
You've said it yourself, you've got what you really need: time, and the will to learn and go ahead. Start by looking around on this forum, maybe become a war room member (which as you can see I'm not but that's something I'm seriously considering). If you're lacking some technical skills I - among others - can help you, for the rest I won't pretend to be anything close to an expert as I'm constantly learning like the rest of us, but basically what you need to do is:

    • Learn how to identify and display the right offers - whatever the method, affiliate marketing, CPC / CPA, etc... - which starts by choosing the right niche, i.e. one that does make money and with which you feel comfortable,
    • Build your first website / blog, even if you're just playing around with the first one in order to learn how to do,
    • Learn how to generate targeted traffic. Which means SEO, social networks, etc...
Then if you manage to bring the right traffic to the right offers you'll be on the right way.

Start your own WordPress blog, get some quality webhosting, autoresponder and start posting useful articles. The more you're passionate about the subject the better.

Build backlinks to your blogs, you'll increase the traffic and add subscription form. Then add some affiliate links and/or banners. Promote something good and useful to your growing list. Build relationship with your blog's readers and your list's subscribers.

Well, as others have said, you're in the right place. I used to be a member here and naively closed my account back then. I'm back again now as it really is the best place to learn from, no matter what your level.

Having been marketing online for a fair while, I can tell you that you need to focus on using the knowledge and products you have and take those online before 'trying' any of the other income strategies. Read and take notes from some of the respected warriors here (those who offer great advice and have plenty of 'Thanks' from others).

Focus on how to set up a sales site for your vinyl products, then learn how to get traffic to that site, from there you can start to fine tune.

    firstly welcome to the forum,

the best thing you did so far was to join the forum, its a good place to start learning about building a solid online business. My first advice is to remember to keep your business head on. Get stuck in and start learning about IM.. stay focused, and structure your time out and set your goals.

now you can go either way, currently you run an offline business with vinly graphics, if your good with designing graphics on photoshop etc maybe you can offer your services in the "warriors for hire" section.

otherwise your offline business bring it online, get a website done, and start selling your products online, this way you'll learn about traffic, building a site, installing, autoresponders etc.

thats just a suggestion. Oh whatever you do don't chase the idea of make money quickly, if you think long term with IM your gonna be better off.

there are some solid warriors in here who offer their mentoring services, Brad goose is one, mark lyford, kenster, the list can go on and on.

    Hello Op,

Yes, welcome to the game and to the WF. You are in a great place, but one filled with potential pitfalls if you reach into your wallet left and right.

I was just on another thread talking how most people new to IM have very little concept of the enormity and intricacies of it all. They are just motivated by an idea and dream. Which is great and very cool. I wish you not only luck, but fortitude in achieving your dream.

For me, it wasn't that there wasn't another option because I was going to be burned at the stake or would lose my house or anything. There was no other option because I want my life to have freedom that is difficult to have when working for others and limited by money and time. By no means am I free from concerns of money and time, but I am on my way and since going full time in IM, the momentum continues.

I think the advice given to look around and really learn is the best. My first year in IM I spent no less than 4 hours per day reading and learning everything I could. I also tried out methods and skills that were new, like building sites and working on their backend (wordpress/html, etc.).

Truly action is what will produce results and experience is the best teacher - especially in IM. Consistent action and a commitment to the completion of your goals is key. Start small and take small steps. Learn and take more steps. fall, get back up, step again. Learn, step, fall, learn, step, fall, becomes step, step, step, step with the learning also taking an easier path.

Find something that resonates and jump in and act. I tried buying sites, monetizing twitter, CPA, adsense, and and a few other things initially. If had to start all over I would either focus on building ONE site first (with proper understanding and planning -> keyword research, content, on site SEO) and/or possibly list building and email marketing using solo ads to boost my initial momentum.

Either way, I would probably grab 4-5 courses for the main method I was going to go after and learn the hell out of it (theoretically) and then put it into practice and follow the 'step' method described above.

There's obviously a lot more to it, but staying focused, getting rid of distractions, being consistent and setting achievable goals is definitely key.

Best to you in your IM travels ~

IM CAN be very confusing and overwhelming. Believe me, I know! Been there, done that.

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

    1. Products
    2. Services

    That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

    Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

    1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

    2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

    3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

    Pick just ONE!

    1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

    2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

    3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

    F -- Follow
    O -- One
    C -- Course
    U -- Until
    S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you're REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Dave,
I understand your situation. I have been trying for a long time myself to find something I could really learn from but never succeeded in learning anything properly. It was more or less a trial and error.

No one explaind it in a way exactly how to learn the verious skills necessary to succeed. You were more or less told to do this and that but not exactly how to do it.

I only started to learn for real when I came across a guy who explained it step by step exactly how to do it. He shows you in details by using videos where you can follow him on your own computer at home.

He makes sure that you have actually got it so that you know how to implement what you have learned.

I also believe the building your own customer list is the best place to invest your time and energy. Find a program which will teach you how to set up squeeze pages and offer free products. Get a list of hungry customers and you will forever be able to market to them in the future. If you need some suggestions on where to learn this information, they are littered all over this forum. when you search for an online income source then you should follow the M-MAP means

M - Motivation (you will need it on every stage in this field)

M - Market (know your like and dislike and professionalism in your inserted field)

A - Advertise ( way of presentation and advertising is also the most important thing to being successful in this market)

P - Promotion ( without it your online business is like a super market in a forest)

When anyone follow M-MAP on every business then success will surely under their leg.
    best of luck
