Solo Ads Questions & More. Help!

Hey guys,

I'm getting into solo ads and have a few questions.

(1) Firstly, what is the difference between the internet marketing niche and the make money online niche? I will be advertising on solo ads, so when I buy solo ads, do I have to be quite particular about their list whether the list is IM or make money online?

(2) How do I track the clicks on my solo ads? What is the best way? Is it via my autoresponder? If so, is there somewhere on Aweber to set up a link that goes from my solo ad to my squeeze page?

(3) And how do I track from my squeeze page opt in to the conversions on my sales page?

(4) How do I split test the performance of solo ads? Do I buy two different solo ads which guarantees similar number of clicks, set up tracking (what do I use to track?) and send the two set of clicks to 2 different domain names eg. xyz.com/makemoney.html and xyz.com/makingmoney.html ?

Firstly, I will test with the same landing page, just different solo ads company. Should I split test for 2 companies, or 3 solo ads companies? Do I even need to test which one converts more? Or is testing different landing pages more useful?

I would really appreciate it if you could tell me more.

Many thanks!

Hey - I'll try and answer some of your questions so here it goes..

1 - Not sure what the difference is between them to be honest... IM - to market products and monetize time on the internet, MMO - to generate an income from an online business??

2 - Well I only have experience with SafeSwaps. If you buy your solo's on there then every click is tracked and you can view your reports in the Dashboard of your account.

    3. Install Google Analytics on your squeeze page, this will tell you how many visits you get per day. Divide that by no. optins and you have your conversion rate!

    4. Split testing, ya I'd get the same amount of clicks but have one solo directed to Page A and the other to Page B. Whatever one has the higher conversion rate would be the one you'd choose.

    Good luck with your Solos

    1) Internet Marketing/Make Money Online is the same I think. Just that Make Money Online has less experience and work in PTC, Fiverr, etc.

    2) You can track your clicks for Free using bitly.com.

    3) Use a different web form. For example, if you are using Aweber, create a new page and a new webform, like make-money-marketing.com/(solo-vender-name), and name your new webform as your solo vendor name. So when someone opt-ins to your website you can know that guy come from that particular solo vendor. But, I don't know how to track how many sales a particular solo vendor made me. If there is a sale, I will just manually search the email used to buy that product and see where does he come from.

    4) I think I already answer this on 3)

    1. the MMO and IM niche are both pretty much the same

    2. the way i always track my clicks with solo ads is every time i buy a new solo ad i name a new web form the name of the solo ad. Then i clone my main squeeze page and name it something like ad 1. Then i install the new aweber code. Then i grab this url go to google url shortner and put my url in there then give the solo ad seller the google url shortner code. this works great for me and is more than good enough. So every solo campaign you will have your own set of stats both in aweber and tracking clicks in your google url shortner account

    3. you know who makes a purchase because when you set up your new solo ad in aweber you name that web form your solo ad. If you also set up your automation so that when someone buys they get shifted to a different list you will be able to look in your aweber and see who unsubscribed from your main list and got put on your buyers list. Because you named your solo ad campaign you can see where they came from before they got segmented

    4. i use google website optimizer to split test my squeeze page

    its plenty good enough

i only split test with one other variation though at a time otherwise your gona need a boat load of traffic before you can get a good feel on what the new page converts at. I usually like to send at least 100 people to a variation to see what it converts at before i make a decision weather it beats the original or not

Thanks everyone for your input. That clears things up a lot.

Paul Nicholls, any ideas about using Prosper 202 to track instead of the Google Website Optimizer?

MMO and IM niches differ in market sophistication.

For example, IM might be looking for web traffic while MMO might be looking to get their first website online.

I target both MMO and IM.

I too love solos, they have worked exceptionally well for me.
I also just joined safe swaps. It is a great tool, and makes adswaps - solos and ads a whole lot easier.
there is a paid version and a free version. If you want to sign up, i think it is just safe swaps dot com - works a treat.

Firstly, what is the difference between the internet marketing niche and the make money online niche?
Make Money Online Niche is sub-niche of Internet Marketing Niche. In Internet Marketing niche, there's PPC niche, CPA, SEO, Traffic Getting, Affiliate Marketing, and of course Make Money Online Niche.

Ive used google shortener to track my clicks...although I have had a little trouble with them over the last couple of days with the stats changing sporadically up and down on an almost hourly basis...but I think this was just a bug. I wold recommend it as 99% of the time it has been great in tracking click rates (goo.gl)

Safe swaps is good for organising swaps..especially if you are in the IM niche. there seems to be tons and tons of IMers looking to swap there
