Here are my CTR and conversion rates for Amazon - how to improve?

Hi guys.

I put a household appliance review website together and have seen around 100 uniques so far (traffic from Google for my keywords). Out of this traffic, 25 have clicked through to Amazon and I've had zero sales.

I need targeted traffic, which I have. I will probably need to work on my reviews(?), but how do these stats compare to your Amazon sites?

Thanks.

What you could do is really emphasise the main benefits of that particular product on Amazon i.e. if Amazon are offering it at a discount or offering with free shipping then create a small banner and place on your website that emphasises this discount.

You want people to take action right away rather than delaying their purchase decision and remaining in the research phase of the buying cycle.

To do this you need to emphasise scarcity and the fact that the free delivery or discount offer is available today. Of course you don't want to deceive people and and tell them that it is ONLY available today but by saying "free shipping today" then you bring into sharp focus in their minds the fact that they need to buy this item today if they are at all interested.

A slightly different approach would be to offer a free bonus for buyers of this product – you could present them with a free downloadable guide to use the product.

    Hope this helps.

    Morning Jodie,

I haven't started selling via the affiliate channel yet but from what I have read here on the forum 100 uniques is not a very large sample size to go by. You may only convert in small percentages so to analyse only 100 visits is not really going to provide you with much.

What I would say is you have got a high CTR at 25% (I believe this is high), so you must be doing something right. As Michael says just ensure you are truly emphasising the great points and not just telling them what they can read on Amazon.

Also, Michaels suggestion of a giveaway is a good one but I may focus on something different than a guide for the product because them signing up is really dependent on them buying the product.

I would offer a giveaway that they could still find useful even if they don't buy the product. For example if you were reviewing new blenders, you could do a giveaway with soup and smoothie recipes. They may not buy the blender today but they may still be interested in some new recipes to use with their old blender or other kitchen tool. You now have them on the list and you can continue that relationship with them. I would continue to tell them great things you can do with your blender and what wonderful food you're producing and the recipe you used. This could really get them thinking they need this great blender and they've got lots of ideas and recipes thay can do with it.

Hope that provides some ideas for you.

    Good luck

    G

As a previous poster mentioned 100 uniques is not enough data to make any real analyse on, my conversions and click through rate change from month to month.
I'd suggest adding more content and reviews to your site and carry on building traffic. Sometimes it takes a few months to take off.

The more traffic the easier it will be to get some real numbers to judge by.. I have a "kitchen" related review site..
Here is a random month (not holiday)
    uniques - 4003
    click thrus - 1370
    sales - 69
I usually am around 4-6% sales on this site, this site is mostly higher priced items coming in at $3-500.
    Hope that helps you out..

And ad placement is important as well. Where are your amazon links on your page? How do they look? And where are they in relation to all your content? This all affects your click through rates.
