I am a noob.. and I need help plz

Hello everyone. I am new to affiliate marketing and I am having a bit trouble figuring it out. I understand the basics.. I find a product, I promote that product and I earn a commission.
What i am not sure how to do and what I need advice about is how to promote it without a website. I hear people say that you can promote it with a blog.. but how? If i am writing a blog about recording music do i just put the link and say "hey guyz, check it out?"

Or i hear people talking about writing articles and posting them to article directories. I tried this on wikihow but it wouldnt let me post the links.

I am not trying to make thousands of dollars a month (although that would be cool)
I am just trying to make a couple hundred or so just to have a little extra pocket money.

I would really appreciate the advice.

If I were you I would build a blog that builds traffic based on keywords in google, begin an SEO campaign, once your efforts with SEO and traffic begins, and start to capture the traffic with autoresponder list. As you begin to build a list you can say to your subscribers "hey check out this great offer." hope this helps.

"thanks" me if this was helpful.

Hi there. If you're new to affiliate marketing I would suggest you to start with Amazon affiliate marketing.

This forum is a good place to start learning. Here's one of the best thread to learn it:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ing-money.html

While the title seems a bit off, but there are many great advices in that thread about Amazon affiliate marketing.

If you already have a blog, why not just start with blogging? There is no better place to start building your list. You already have a group of readers and you can start from there!

So just start to build a form in your blog, giving out freebies. I believe you can start having subscribers and you can have some passive income from there

          Hazl,

Advice like yours is well-meaning, but incomplete -- and thus, extremely frustrating to others like the OP.

Blogging and "giving freebies" is all well and good. But how do you make money doing that??? Your post is sorely lacking in details and specifics. People like the OP need a specific plan and business model for turning all of those freebies into $$$.

It's also a VERY good example of why relying solely on "free" to learn what you need to know to make money online is a very bad idea. Your advice is grossly incomplete.

(You ARE correct, BTW. But it's only a small piece of a much bigger puzzle.)

          To the OP:

The way you market products and services online happens in the same way for everyone, whether the product is yours or someone else's (which you're marketing as an affiliate). If you plan on making money primarily as an affiliate, you still need your own website/blog.

IM CAN be very confusing and overwhelming. Believe me, I know! Been there, done that.

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

          1. Products
          2. Services

          That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

          Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

          1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

          2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

          3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

          Pick just ONE!

          1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

          2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

          3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

          F -- Follow
          O -- One
          C -- Course
          U -- Until
          S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

          Hope this helps!

Hi, better focus on having your Own property - a niche/authority site (blog if you want)

If you just want a couple hundred per month, you can easily make that with a niche site

The most important thing here is to find at least 1 product that matches "recording music" and once you find that, just make a site with at least 5 posts (lets say 500-1000 words each) that provide good tips about recording music, and throughout those posts, put your affiliate links in the middle or the end of the post

You may say something like "click here to visit the #1 music recording software", or even better use images (using your affiliate links).

Here are some of the popular affiliate networks you might check out:
    Clickbank
    Shareasale
    Commission Junction
    Plimus
    Asseenonpc
    Strongerads
    cpalead
    cpabeyond

    Hope this helps,

You first need to pick a niche, something that you know a thing or two about. You don't have to be an expert, but just have some knowledge about that niche.

Then you need to create some sort of landing page. The most common is a blog or squeeze page (to build a list). If you don't want to buy a domain name and hosting then you can stick to using a free blog for now. But I suggest investing a small amount of money in a domain name and hosting after you start making some money. Another option is to build a Facebook fanpage and use that as a landing page which is a great free option and has a lot of viral potential.

if doing a blog, then you want to write a few articles about your niche and promote your affiliate links in the article. If your building a squeeze page then your object is to build a list in which you'll need an autoresponder service like Aweber of Getresponse. Once you start getting subscribers you can promote different affiliate offers to them. But make sure you provide your subscribers with value and don't just promote offers all the time.

Then you need to get traffic to your landing page. You can do a seo campaign. However seo can be complicated and I wouldn't recommend starting out doing seo unless you invest in some good seo courses that deal with the google penguin updates and are willing to put in the time necessary to do a good seo campaign.

The easiest way to get traffic is to do forum marketing. You want to find forums that are related to your niche. Then find your signature and put in a description of your blog or squeeze page and then put a link to it. Then you want to start posting in the forum. Answer peoples questions and give advice. Every time you post it will show your signature and if people like your post then they may click through to your landing page.

You can also get traffic through social media platforms like Facebook, Google Plus, Linkedin, Twitter, or the newest and fastest growing social site Pinterest. i personally recommend Facebook and Pinterest for driving traffic. However I would recommend picking up some courses on driving traffic with these platforms.

Anther way to get traffic is with paid advertising like PPC (Pay Per Click), PPV( Pay Per View), banner advertising, solo ads etc. However I strongly recommend starting out with free traffic methods first. Then when your making money you can scale up with paid advertising.

If I would start right now, I would simply make a simple page with affiliate links (review page for a product or comparison page for several products).

than find a few relevant high traffic forums on that niche, put a link in your signature, and start helping people. do 5-20 posts per day and you will start seeing traffic and hopefully sales.

the best way to do that is with cpa offers because it's much easier to convert, but it's hard to get accepted if your a new.

With regard to how you can make money without a site, they are referring to you emailing your affiliate link for the product to friends, an email list you may have etc.

Even if all of this is a little new to you you can get to work on twitter or facebook, find relevant others through careful searching then after putting a little time in to building a relationship through Twitter/Facebook, send them your affiliate link.

That way, you may get click throughs and sales .. without a website )

Whatever you choose.. good luck )
