After Effects Alternative?

OK graphic and video experts...Is there a free alternative to Adobe's After Effects?

Basically, I'm looking for something that can open and modify pre-made After Effects project files.

Thanks...

There are no free alternatives - the only program that will open After Effects templates or .aep files (project files) is After Effects. The software also has a steep learning curve. If you need some AE files modified, hit me up for cheap and quality work.

free versions are always limited when it comes to this type of software use... pay the price and create quality!

You didn't answer my question. You assume I'm asking for my own use. Maybe I want to tell others about a free way to modify quality premade After Effects Project Files?

But thanks for the lecture...

        Kurt,

Sorry about that. No sorry I am not sure if there are any free ones that do the same job. But what i've found is that when it comes to video editing i'm not expert and I don't claim to be one either. My solution to this was to find a great flash and video expert outsourcer in the Philippines. I have had some great quality work done for me on some videos that have gone for over 5 minutes long and cost under $100USD. Thought my time saved was well worth that as I continued my efforts else where.

Unless you are great at video editing, or if the person you are looking for the free video editing / after effects on videos is experienced (which i would assume they would have some knowledge on what's the best software to use and if there are free ones out there) I would recommend trying to find an outsource worker for it.

Sorry about the confusion, I have tried video editing and adding after effects... I just sucked so much at it and wasted an entire day without have anything good enough to put up.

        Cheers,
