Am I The Only One Who Does That?

Hey guys,

I've noticed that there are lots of SEO WSO's that show screenshot proof of their rankings. But what strikes me as weird is that usually:

1) It turns out that their keywords have almost no searches
2) They always highlight the number of competing pages (which according to many people, including me, doesn't really mean much).

When you see such WSO's, do you immediately put the author's in your own Black List and ignore any of their opinions and other products?

This is at least what i'm doing.

    Yeah - to be honest I don't usually look at the proof of rankings of any SEO WSO's on here.

    The reality is that most SEO WSO's aren't based on a lot of evidence. They are based on some evidence, but 90% theory.

    Which you could argue is a complete sham. But really if there's a WP plugin or a guide that teaches a great strategy (even if not backed up by incredible rankings) I will still buy it based on my thoughts i.e. if I believe the strategy/plugin/software will help.

    The whole competing pages thing is complete bull**** and seriously is getting old. It has nothing to do with the competition, really. Just make your own judgement, most WSO launchers don't have the time to wait months to prove their strategies.

    But they know their **** is good and that their strategies will work so they launch anyway. Make your own judgments, don't blacklist people because they're doing what everyone else is (their stuff may be excellent).

    I don't pay any attention to most screenshots, income or rankings. It's not hard to rank for a keyword no one searches for, is it? lol.

    What boggles my mind is that i've seen more or less respected warriors do that. They show a screenshot where they brag about ranking high, while pointing out the number of competing pages for a particular keyword.

    What credibility do they have as "experts" if they do not know the basics? Or maybe they do know the basics and just use these screenshots to impress and manipulate newbie marketers?

    I agree totally. It does seem like this is a very common occurrence with the marketing of the WSO's. The sad truth is that you really have no clue what the "proof" is referring to.
