Wow...Amazing Article Marketing Results!

Hey Everyone,

Just thought I'd share some Ezine Articles stats with you this morning...

I had no idea that the results were going to turn out this awesome, but check it out!

That's a 44% CTR, and a total of 28,133 views on just 21 articles!

That's an average of 1,339 views per article.

The best part about it is that I have only had this EzineArticles account for 5 months!

I opened this author account on September 25, 2008!

I do not wish to discuss any earnings, because some of these articles were written and submitted for clients of mine -- and others bring me in some nice money.

But, for any of you who are skeptical about whether article marketing works or not...this is some inspiration. Take it as you will but remember, if you do something the right way, you will have the results you're looking for.

Best,
Shane

Wow! Shane, brilliant results, you must be some writer.

I'm delighted you posted your stats because I've been considering article marketing for months but been too lazy to start.

Your success has given me the kick up the pants I needed!

    Thanks

Like I said, I wasn't expecting these results either!

However, quality and unique writing with a 1-3% keyword density and some LSI techniques just about did it.

    Thanks for the support.

Those are some awesome results! Lest some of those reading your thread who aren't experienced with EZA get too excited, it's important to note that these are atypical results. The vast (and I mean VAST) majority will not do this well. I personally think a lot of it comes down to the popularity of the niche, the popularity of the keywords in the articles, and the level of competition. I think EZA newbies should strive for Shane's level of success, but be very happy if you do even half as well.

Here are some tips that might help increase your views and CTRs:

      1. Be serious and professional with your headlines/article titles.

      2. Talk to your readers in a conversational tone.

      3. Be a teacher!

      4. Use a 1-3% keyword density and try to be as nonchalant as possible with your keyword placement.

      5. ALWAYS write 100% unique articles, don't go spinning and twirling.

      6. Give a strong, but REALISTIC call to action in your author resource box and include a link to your site of course.

      7. Make sure your article delivers what it promises.

      8. Do NOT be too blatant when it comes to leaving a cliff hanger at the end of the article.

I'll think of some more and post them when I have about 5 more good ones, hope this helps a bit!

      Best,
      Shane

Watch out for the keyword density when submitting article to Ezine Articles, they prefer you to have it at a level of one main keyword per 100 words.(1%) I have had articles rejected when above that and was given that advice by the article checker.

This is unbelievably arrogant if true.

It could be the reason some ezinearticles published articles appear to be not as well ranked in Google as they once were for some niches I've been monitoring.

    Hi Shane,

Great results man! I notice that your membership is the Platinum one, and not the Premium (paid) level. I'm paying the premium rate membership but am getting nowhere near your stats; i'm logging in with a CTR of 33.6% on 172 articles in 4 niches.

My question is, i guess, do you use and would you recommend the paid membership to EZA? Pretty blunt i know but i'd value your opinion.

    Well done again.

      Michael,

Sorry bro, I must have overlooked your post!

I do not use the paid membership to EZA and therefore I don't know whether or not to recommend it.

I am sure there are multiple benefits to signing up, but the results that I achieved had nothing to do with a paid membership because I have always used the free one.

The key to success with ezineaticles is quality and employing keywords in the correct density. People tend to overuse keywords with an intention of attracting the search engines and the articles end up reading oddly. I personally prefer keeping it below 2%.

I realize that recently 1-2% keyword density has been a lot more effective.

However, for a long time 1-3% was the perfect keyword density...at least in my experience.

Thanks for the tip, I think this is a very important aspect that everyone should take into consideration.

I write 8-10 articles a week. My views vary a good bit I test things to see what's what in certain niches. And what I have found is strange. Some niches that I am knowledgeable in sometimes get less views than the ones I know nothing about.

In fact, the articles that I have the most views on I know nothing about and was just testing the market. It showed me that while I may love a particular niche/topic doesn't mean everyone else does.

    Thanks for the post Graham.

I guess the new rule is to keep it 1% or below! As you can see, these articles were all submitted a few months ago -- around October/November and they weren't being as strict then.

All those articles passed with flying colors, so the rule must be pretty recent, but I think it's a good one.

      Hi Shane

No problem, do you think that this will affect the volume of traffic
you would normally expect from an article. Where 2-3% density worked
OK I would think that 1% would have an adverse affect unless LSI is more
effectual than keyword density these days

It really depends on a lot of different contributing factors, I don't think it comes down to just one thing over another.

If everything is in line, the content is unique and keyword optimized (but not too obviously) and you implement LSI techniques then there's no reason why it shouldn't do well. However, sometimes it can be hit or miss with articles and search engine placement.

    Shane,

I know article marketing is a viable way to start making affiliate income from what I have read here at the WF and trying to get my head around writing my first article so I can start promoting affiliate products, but all I'm doing is just staring at blank computer screen! What basic tips can get me writing my first article if I'm not knowledgeble about the subject/product or have a clue what to write? Just to be able to get my first article written would be so awesome! Only free time I have to work on this is on Sundays (today) and I am broke with no money to spend at all so I can't outsource. Any info you can provide would be most helpful to get me out of my rut!

wow...I am impressed! If you decide on creating a WSO product for article writers, I will be first in line!

It is so great to see those stats, because many of my writing clients are more focused on keyword density than actual quality content. If the article is solid, people will want to post it on their site and blogs. In addition, they are trying to kill themselves thinking of any way possible to TRICK ezine by adding backlinks in the body, but as I always tell them, if you write a truly quality piece, it will get picked up and used by others...THAT will get you all the backlinks you need.

Thanks Shane, VERY inspirational post from a truly experience IM'er!
