Exit Pop up on close only?

I'm considering putting an exit popup on one of my amazon sites. The site makes a decent amount of money but I'm also using it to build a list in the niche. Unfortunately I don't have a great conversion rate with my opt ins so I'd like to add an exit popup to help out.

Is it possible to have a popup that only displays when a user is closing down the browser window, and not say when a visitor clicks a link from my site through to Amazon?

I really only want to capture emails from the wasted visitors that are leaving the site anyway. I don't want to interfere with the visitors who are clicking through to Amazon.

Exit popup is just that, when someone is trying to close the browser and not when they are clicking on the affiliate link.

It's a great idea. Since they are going to leave anyway, why not try to capture their email address?

You can try Exit Splash.

I've recently had developed an exit pop-up which allows you to have full control of pages you want to exclude and the choice of eliminating it from happening when an offsite link is clicked. PM me if you want a review copy

  Most internet users enable their pop-up bloker, personally if I am exiting a page what even pop-up came out I will just ignore and close it anyway.

  some do ignore but some people click on them, or enter their optin, so they can work too.

  I use exit splash and it works great. Doesn't interfere with links. It comes up when you either try to close or hit the back button. The 26 blogs link in my sig uses it. Check it out for yourself.

I think it is batter to use pop up domination 3.0 to build your list it is the best list building plug-in however if you want an exit pop up you should try exit splash

The best I like for this kind of job is WP POPIT.

There are numerous ways you can use this, it is only limited by your imagination.

I use the digi-results list builder plug-in, which has excellent control over pop ups, and helps with excellent conversions through redirects. I could give you an affiliate link - but don't want to undermine the comment! It REALLY is good.
