Top Five Ways to Drive Targeted Traffic

I know there are several ways to drive traffic to a blog or website and I also know there are many postings on here that cover this. I have found myself getting scattered with my approach and wanted to see if I could narrow my methods down to about five of the BEST. I love forum posting and I write blog entries. Can anyone give me a top five that are unquestionably the best so I can get focused?

You first of all, need great content. You then need to optimize those articles with backlinks to them. Backlinking is simple - take your link and put it where people will see it - preferably on dofollow websites. After a while, it will all start to come together, snowball effect. You get out of it what you put into it. Keep up the hard work. Are you targeting any keywords to rank for in Google?

    Hello everyone,

    I don't have 5 strategies.
But I can share 3 free strategies that I have used
    to drive traffic.

    1) Forum Marketing
    2) Blog Commenting
    3) Classified Ads.

Although some classified ads arent really free.
You gotta pay like $9.95 per month to post
    unlimited ads.

    Hope that helps.

      • 1. PPC, offline/online private ads and solo email ads.
        2. Contributing informative, entertaining and helpful content in contextually relevant social communities/groups/networks, such as Web forums, blog networks and online social groups.

        3. Content syndication and guest authoring.

Email marketing is the best to bring targeted traffic if it is done correctly. You can switch the traffic on and off like a tap if you have your own list, and you will never be hit by Google algorithm changes!

Naturally, you need a list. All Internet Marketers should focus on building a list. You will want to do this eventually, so why not start with it. A sale is one thing - but with a list member, you can have multiple sales over a long period of time.

There is loads of good advice on here about building lists for email marketing so I won't bore you with it now. However, I agree with some others. If you have some money behind you - go for solo ads. Very powerful.

Pretty much what the others have said. One thing I will add though, is it's important to be diversified with your traffic sources. There's no point relying on just one, as you never know when it's going to get taken away.

In no particular order, try using:

Paid traffic (If you can afford it),
    Guest Blogging,
    Forum Marketing,
Twitter (Automate this, manual is long and you don't get a good ROI).

As well as gaining traffic, you need to learn how to retain that traffic. If people turn up on your site and bounce straight off, all your efforts will be for nothing. So make sure you offer something of value, and ensure you're getting traffic that matches your offer.

Yes, I agree with a lot of these responses.

But it completely depends on what you are driving them to and why. Both untargeted and targeted traffic can mean nothing if you don't have a funnel in place to turn them into what you want (customers, subscribers, readers, etc).

Another way to look at some of these methods too is to think of which might be the best residual traffic source or sources. The ^^^ post mentions turning articles into pdf and powerpoint and the then uploading them to sharing sites for those mediums.

Yes, I agree, this is a good idea. But really, you can usually transform most content into other types of content. Repurposing content this way and sharing it can take one original piece and turn it into 5 or more. That's 5x the exposure and most of it will stay up online indefinitely so it's potentially residual.

Article becomes slideshow becomes video becomes powerpoint becomes podcast becomes ebook (pdf) becomes kindle book = lots o' traffic

Or bulk buy traffic via ad buys, newsletter buys, solo ads and more.

Just don't go spending too much money until after you have your funnel converting the way you want it too.

We can give plenty of traffic method but you need to understand which traffic method is converting most..

Some traffic method FREE traffic does not convert but if you paid method, they convert very well so it depends which one doing good..

    What I do is..

    1) Blogging
    2) Social Media
    3) Forum
    4) Blog Commenting

All this traffic method you can do if you have good time, but you can't give 24 hours on this traffic so you need to be consistently with one traffic for a week time or a month and than jump to other traffic method.

FREE traffic is all the time slowly but long term, paid traffic is fast and quick to see the results.... I hope this helps you..

If you have money, than AdWords PPC would be the best.

    If you don't have money, then this is the best solution;

    1. YouTube - video marketing
    2. Related forum commenting
    3. Social Networks (twitter, Facebook)
    4. Related blog commenting
    5. Email marketing

I'm going to get flamed for this (probably) but PPC is still the best damn targeted traffic generator there is IMHO. 1-2 weeks of a huge broad keyword list, canning the crap and putting the money into the higher converting ones, then really beefing those up (i never do more than 1000% in a week, the population of the internet is large, not infinite, there IS a cieling)

This is from an Affiliate perspective of course...or a landing page, any page that will make a sale, not for adsense sites or anything like that.
