Need some inspiration to keep it up

I started my dealwizard website in April and i worked many hours on it. I have only made around $8 in total sales and adsense. is this normal? am i doing something wrong?
Can you tell me how long it can take to actually make some money?
Whats a normal amount of visitors in the begining? what is the best way to get visitors and keep them?
Does anyone have a similar site and can help me with facts and figures?
thanks

If you need inspiration, you won't make it. The insipiration and drive needs to lie within you. Your website is brand new, you haven't built any type of brand, no trust from customers, content can't be that great simply because the website is new. No way you're ranking for any keywords either. Don't give up. Same as anything in life, the more you put into something, the more you get out of it.

I am willing to put hours and hours into it. I just want to hear from people that its worth the time and effort. To know that there is a light ($$$$) at the end of the tunnel - even if it takes a year

Only you can decide if it's worth the effort. The thing with IM is that it requires lots of testing and tweaking to make it work best for you and your goals. It's also important to know when to pull the plug.

The biggest thing I can say is "just stay with it." Even though it can be difficult to see, it's really your education that should be your main focus. You may realize that your idea is 10x better than you think it is, or you might realize it was terrible. I've experienced both, but the key is to keep on learning and applying that learning. That's how you get better.

When I got started, I got sucked into the whole "you can make $37,482.48 in 7 days using XYZ whatever." Some of the people were sincere. Some of them, as it turns out, were morons. For me, it set unrealistic expectations of when success should occur and it took me some time before I really started to learn the craft of internet marketing. So I'd try to steer you away from extreme optimism. Know that you can make lots of money, but usually not without lots of work. Keep working, keep studying, and the pay off should eventually come.

Stick with 1/2 things and keep working on them until you achieve your goal. Don't try to play all-rounder.

You can do it, some people have struggled for YEARS until finding success. There is a huge learning curve in IM and there are very few that are overnight successes.

Don't fall for all the hype and nonsense. Yes, some make boat loads of cash in IM - and it seems like it happens overnight for them, but did you notice them while they were sitting in their tiny bedrooms late at night trying to make sense of all of this? Absolutely not.

You made eight bucks, that's great! You will always remember your first eight bucks!

You never know what tomorrow will bring - one thing always leads to your next discovery. And that discovery may be the ticket to your success...

Hello Deal Wizard, I notice that your website is related to deals & promotions?
How many visitors are you getting to your website?

The best way to get visitors and keep them is for you to start building a list
with your website. You can start doing that by adding an opt in box on your website.

Provide your visitors with a free gift as an incentive for opting in into your list.

Once you have a list, you can simple blast out an email instantly to your list
whenever you have something new to offer.etc or updates..etc..

    Hope that helps. Cheers buddy.

Yes it's typical to make no money at first. The fact that you've made $8 with a month old site probably puts you ahead of most newbies.

You need to do more to promote your mailing list. Just saying "Follow by email" does nothing to inspire people to sign up. You have to SELL people on joining your mailing list just like you would if it were a paid subscription. Give them the ol' "what in it for them" pitch.

Your "support our site, shop through out links" tab ... blah. Why should they? That phrasing is all about what YOU want. That dog won't hunt. If you take nothing else away from my reply, remember this ... everything on your site has to be about what's in it for your visitors or it's about nothing at all.

Some things that immediately stick out to me are that it's quite difficult to read... perhaps reduce the header and make it more obvious what you do, that should increase your CTR.

You'll convert more traffic that way with less traffic... but the fact you're getting traffic is pretty cool, just keep doing what you're doing. And when you can afford it, outsource those tasks to someone else

Yes it does take time to learn the process of making money online. Starting with online business is easy, but sticking with it till it make 100's or 1000's or 10,000's of $$$$ for you is the difficult part.

Its a learning process, you will need to find out the primary reasons you are not making enough money and fix them one by one. Online business has huge potential but you must figure it out.

Take it as a Step-by-Step learning process, see you have a site now that can make money for you, thats one step ahead, now see the options you can use to make mone on this site. See how you can get more traffic to the site, are you building a list - if not build one.

There are tons of things you can do to enhance the money making potential of your site, find these things and do them.

You are actually lucky to make $8 the first month with a new site.
You need to start promoting and building traffic to it, it won't grow naturally.
So it's either seo or other traffic generation methods (video marketing, SMO, article marketing etc.) There is a huge learning curve involved. So unless you want top spend years learning, a wise step would be to take a good IM course.

    Hi,

I know how you feel. I've been there. I was like you who was looking for something to keep me going.

One of those things that greatly helped me was my interview with Bob Yeager. One of the best things that you could do is to celebrate for every small success that you have. Like for example, getting 10 people in your list is just one day. Celebrate for that!

Having 10 more people like your facebook page, celebrate for that!

Getting 50 more followers on Twitter, celebrate for that!

What I mean to say is, if we learn to be happy for every small success that we have, it will help us to keep doing it because it makes us happy.

I hope this helps mate. I could give you access to my interview with Bob Yeager if you want, just send me a PM.

    Take Care,

    N

The amount of money you are going to make through a website depends on a lot of factor. The keyword research, the demand and a good product. I have made many small websites in last few months. Some makes me 500$ pm, few makes me around 200$ pm.

Before I start building any website, I lay down a well thought plan for next 2 months on how I am going to promote my sites whether be it SEO, Social media etc. I calculate the amount of money I am expected to make and I follow it strictly.

I think you can work on your website template a bit more. Start building a list. If you don't have any money yet go with listwire.com to build your list. I think you can also work on your content. Visit some of your competitor sites and take a hint from them. It will surely help.

Social media traffic might work for you e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc.

I usually make review sites and 30-40 visitors (Google search engine traffic) per day are good enough to make me between 400-500$ every month, however I get 25-30$ per sale and my conversions are pretty good.

    Hope it helps!

    Hope it helps

Seem it already two month for your Adsense.
3 thing you need to concern,
    a) Is your site traffic Quality enough?
    b) Is the Adsense relate to your content ?
    c) Is your content persuasive enough or not enough power in call to action?

Your website looks all over the place. Are you looking to make money with affiliate offers or advertising (from the banners on the right of the page)? Consider gathering leads with a hover ad that comes in over your page.
