What you do about these buyers

Hey guys just received an email from paypal saying

We were recently notified that one of your buyers filed a chargeback. This
simply means they asked their credit card issuer to reverse a payment made
to you purchased on 22 Mar 2012.

The buyer claims that this purchase was made without their authorisation to
use the credit card. Their credit card issuer needs additional information
from you about this transaction to help resolve this.

as i just accepted liability coz i dont want to get in trouble just because of 14 bucks here is what i have got in another email from paypal

After careful consideration of the evidence provided by you and the buyer
in the case referenced above, we have determined that you are liable for
the chargeback amount. The amount of the above-referenced transaction has
been debited from your PayPal account.

PayPal has been charged a fee by the buyer's card issuer, and as a result
we have had to debit your PayPal account a charge back settlement fee of
$20.00 USD.
what you guys do in such situations how u manage such serial refunder clients ?

What makes you say he is a serial refunder? Has he done a card chargeback more than once?

The thing is that people DO make fraudulent charges on other peoples credit cards. I've had a couple of those myself and actually even "talked" to one of the people and it really was a fraudulent charge.

I would think serial refunders, on the other hand, are going to be the ones that would be using their paypal balance so they can get the money refunded right away via a paypal dispute and not wait 2 months to do a chargeback on their credit card?

Either way, chargebacks, disputes and returns are all part of doing business. The best way to handle them is to make sure you have a top notch product that most people don't want a refund on.

Trust me no matter how quality product you have there are going to be such people and i am saying because till today i have only 4 refunds out of all sales only (quality) and only one person contacted me via email and asked for refund which i happily did ,all others were paypal disputes and why am i saying this because during one simple Google search about this specific client i have found many people complaining about him

i do admit there are fraudulent people making purchases and that is correct but here i am talking about people who really are serial refunders ..

Oh well, there you go. Maybe you should show paypal that info? Its been my experience that even if you win a credit card chargeback (one that comes from the credit card company) they will just reissue the chargeback the following month.

I won one in paypal a while back because I had documentation from my download service showing the person downloaded the product. Paypal decided in my favor. The next month, guess what - chargeback again from the same transaction. I don't know how long they will do this for because I finally gave up fighting it - took too much of my time.

P.S. I didn't mean to imply that your products were crappy - I agree that even the best products will get some returns. I was just saying thats pretty much the best thing you can do to fight it. I think there will always be dishonest people who want to just get your product for free if they can.

It's simple really. You either accept the chargeback and the additional charges that are usually attached to it or you call paypal and question it. Paypal will fight chargebacks if you put forward a valid case against a chargeback. If you do nothing or accept them then it'll go ahead.
