Priorities: Think I've got mine all twisted and I could sure do with your help!

I've been in one mother of a funk today - stressing about falling so behind with my product creation goals and dealing with classic mind blocking stuff (lack of focus, fear of everything, blah, blah, blah). I had to go take an extra long nap to clear my head from all the noise.

Then it occurred to me. Perhaps I'm going about things a little skew-wiffy and that is what's affecting my mood. While it's great to get products created and uploaded (I'm building a PLR store in between bouts of procrastination and perfectionism), I haven't spent much time promoting them and I'm feeling a little stuck just now.

I realize that list building should be my number one priority. I dare not tell you the exact size of my list (but it's very small... as in single figures... and has been that way for a little while now lol). Clearly, I need to sort this out!

After all, what good is having a fully stocked store if no one actually knows it exists?

So I'm shifting things around by placing more emphasis on growing my teeny weeny list into something spectacular.

I'm thinking about splitting my work ratio 80/20 in favour of list building. However, I'm all ears to any advice from you guys. If you feel like sharing how much time you spend on building your lists then that would be just awesome.

Cheers!
M

I spend 80% of my time building my lists. I didn't pluck the 80% from your post though, i have always segmented 80% of my daily tasks to list priority and the other 20% to advancing my marketing.

Ahhh, see that's why I needed a sanity check. The bulk of my time has gone into planning, writing, site building with next to nothing on the list building/promoting front. Thanks for your input.

Build list, market to list, profit. Also just keep everything as simple as possible, always.

Only focus on ONE simple thing at a time. Remove all other distractions. Good luck.

Hi Mena, its very true the list is so important. Product creation is also another key to success in internet marketing. But for those that just started, or have problem getting more time to focus on internet marketing. Choose only one of these, I learned that through my mistakes.

If you are creating product, you will need to make sure your product is of good quality (at least slightly better). Then to your list, if you do not have one, you can market to other affiliates and hopefully getting some one to help you sell to their list.

Another way is building a list. Then you can just building the list and do not do product creation if you don't have the time, but of course if you already had one, consider giving out for free to build your list. Focus on driving traffic, then you can promote products to your list. There are a number of ways to drive traffic, article marketing, blog, video marketing, classified ads, social marketing, ppc. There are so many many ways but do so systematic and consistently.

All the best for your internet marketing journey, and one of the most important key is never give up

Thank you for your comments. And don't worry, giving up has never entered my mind - I'm far too stubborn for that. Besides I love what I do and my products are quality!

Product creation is a massive part of my new business venture and that's cool because I enjoy it. But I've been neglectful on the promotional side so that's where I need to re-dress the balance.

It really helps knowing how people juggle their product creation activities with marketing activities. It would be great to get some more input.

      Cheers
