I Am Not a Millionaire. Here Is Why.

Today I received an email that made me think.

What if I had turned the table and...

I had taken all the money I have used the last five years buying products on "how to make money from home" and invested them in buying websites with already traffic and passive income on.

I had taken all the money I have used the last five years buying products on "how to make money from home" and invested them in a finished product with a sales page, and released it on the Clickbank marketplace.

I had taken all the money I have used the last five years buying products on "how to make money from home" and invested them in paid traffic and sent that traffic to a squeeze page, blindly in almost any niche, and build a relationship with all those potential customers.

I had found just one successful mentor and followed all of his/here advise and nothing else for the same time I have spent jumping from one method to another.

I had taken my IM business with the same kind of seriousness that I have had in my ordinary work.

In every scenario above I was a millionaire by now.

Someone else that can relate?

I definitely can relate. I don't know what is holding us back either. It's not that we don't have the no how or work ethics. It just seems that sometimes its not that easy to focus on one thing and one thing only. This time i'm trying my best to focus on one thing and be good at just one thing. Once I'm content I'm moving my focus onto the next steps.

Mj DeMarco talked about this in the "Millionaire Fastlane". Its called the principle of Monogamy, where you focus all your efforts into one business project instead of trying out so many that you can't make any of them succeed.

Actually, no. Your assumption is based upon a false premise

There is no guarantee that you'd be a millionaire if you
had done any... or all... of those things.

Playing what if is a losing game. Play what will if you want
    to achieve millionaire status.

...millionaire, millions, more ca$h than you ever thought possible, more paper money than you could stick down your throat till you choke on it, millions of millions, tons of millions, thousands of millions an hour...

Come on peoples let's keep a sensible perspective on things.

If you want to permanently feel let down because you cannot aspire to what you know some lucky soul has achieved your entire life will become a misery...

Whatever happened to just being content in life that your life style is sooO much better than millions all around you...

I mean do we have to focus on all this suffocating 'Hit the BIG time' splendour' just to feel self-respect or contentment?

I get tired of hearing all this but hey! It's your life & you do with it what you will.

      Exactly, Mary.

      Thank you.

That was my whole point. TSnyder is correct when he points out that it is no future in the "what if" game, but if you don't recognize the behavior that is holding you back or sabotage yourself, it is difficult to take any new good direction.

I do not have any need to come here to post a thread like this, for my own sake. I have already taken the needed change that is best for me.

I have set the goals, created the plans, teamed up with those mentors I need, at this point in the process.

I posted this because I wanted to try to "wake up" some others in the same boat as me, spinning their wheels, having the buyers' behavior instead of the marketer's behavior, trying to buy themselves into success and riches instead of making a plan and doing the needed steps.

In the "wake up" process it can be smart to play the "what if" game.

My point was that any other path than buying product after product without implanting anything would have brought me in the right direction. Even if I do things wrong going in one direction would have been better because you are moving forward, and mistakes can be corrected.

Just focus on money and what's in it for you and that will show through in what you do. Yes, we all want to make money. But why is making $1 million so important?
You don't know my mindset, because I didn't tell you .

I just stated that I had spent a lot of money chasing money.
I didn't state in my originally post how much money I have spent on "how to make money" product either.

I agree 100% that helping other people with their problem is a proven way to success in any area in life.

I know because I have 25 years of experience on sale, and I have an education in Coaching and hypnotherapy.

I didn't say that making $ 1 million was important for me either. Please don't take everything so literally.

The whole message here was that I have, and I believe many with me, have thrown a lot of money down the drain that could have been invested much more wisely in our business and made us a lot closer to our business goals, whatever those goals must be for each and one of us.

I am not a millionaire 'cause I really don't know how to be one. And I think thats way I'm in WF. To learn how to become one. Still learning from my faults and mistakes. But I'm going to be a millionaire very soon. Wish me luck.

Most people have the same chance of making millions with a website as they do getting hit by an asteroid. 'The Internet' is a mature market where getting rich quick is a sales pitch and not reality.

People don't start businesses in the 'offline world' and expect to be rich in a year. They expect lots of hard work with no guarantees of a 'rockstar lifestyle.' The same holds true for internet marketing.

Maybe the question here should be "Why did I keep buying "how to make money from home" products when the first ones did not work?"

Has anybody ever made any money from one of these products?

To be honest I have never bought one, so I cannot judge, but I have never heard of it actually making millions for anyone.

    Oddvar,

Excellent post..... One of the "mental hurdles" we all seem to encounter is..... We seem to know what the result would have been had we taken a certain path.....

If I had married her, my life would be better....

If I had taken that $1,200 from my college graduation present and invested it in Microsoft, I would have a net worth of millions now....

If I had majored in Marketing in college, I would be financially set now...

We never know how things really would have turned out.... Assuming things would have worked out perfectly or even worked out at all is a wild guess at best... Taking a different path means many "variables" change...

You may have married her only to find she is not a woman of character....

You may have made millions.... Only to lose them in your next business venture...

You may have majored in Marketing...... And ended up hating your job.....

That is my "long winded" way of saying we never know exactly what would have happened....

We need to think of the past as "training" for our prosperous future.... We can now make the most of every opportunity.....

Oddly enough, I found this today...

"Your habits today will determine your future. Examine your life, take inventory of your behaviors, and when you find something that’s not right, be quick to change." - Joel Osteen

Well now all the OP has to do is dedicate all his resources into the things he has outlined in his post for the next 5 years and he will be a millionaire.

Well it is definitely harder than it sounds but just jumpin in there and finding things out for yourself rather than jumping from product to product would have seen you a little more profitable than you might be now.

    Lesson for the future.

First you must learn a solid workable system then you must take action and implement what you learn. Then you must learn from what you implement and fine tune this process

Action is the key to all true learning. Action is the truth about what you want in life, what you REALLY want. One failed project that you implemented and took action on will teach you far more then 10 programs that you did not act on.

You make your habits then you habits make you.

  • I do coaching and have had thousands of people come to events or buy products and talk to them I also go to mastermind meetings etc.. The #1 reason 99% can't make money and don't is they get overwhelmed and just dont' take action it's simple as that. I'm sure I'm a stupid when it comes to some super smart people I have seen but me with all the stupid mistakes grinding down the work are better off then the high IQ educated guy who is always learning. Just my 2 cents, basically it's about implementation and willing to fail a few times till you get it right. I hope this doesn't offend anyone but I feel this is the truth (at least how I see it). Good luck.

The most competitive niche out there is the "make money from home" niche. If you use the same techniques for different niches, you might have better luck since less people are competing.

A lot of people are missing the point here. Or just posting for the sake of argument. I have seen this happen with many threads... (even myself). OP posts something from inspiration and so called experts say something demotivating, find a mistake in his post or something along that line.

OP has finally understood that the concepts in business are simple. Principles don't change and tactics are never constant. Information gathering doesn't help and action does help. Important to build a list.

Well done Oddvar Meyer. I believe you will make millions. The first million is the toughest. Just don't buy into a high consumption lifestyle. Save and reinvest. Good luck!

I'm fortunate to have achieved millionaire status that so many people are aspiriting to as internet marketers so felt compelled to share the lessons I learned on this post:

    1. Never quit (that's the only time you will fail)
    2. Model the best (find someone you can trust and listen)
    3. Set powerful goals and link them to your online activities
    4. Put other people first and yourself last
    5. Give outstanding value in everything you do
    6. Never stop learning and improving yourself (not just in IM)
    7. Everything matters (diet, exercise, outlook, reading, habits etc.)

yes I can relate - there is a middle ground that I believe everyone should have.

You should not spend all your money on reading about ways to make money. You should put aside some money and test the methods yourself.

Instead of buying someone else's PDF on how to make money with websites (which makes the author money) take that money spend it on a domain and develop it

    Hi

It is always easy to look back and say "If I knew then what I know now".

But how would you know what you know now without reading, buying, trying and failing or succeeding?
