Using Banner Ads Effectively on Your Blog
Just wanted to share something today that might be helpful when it comes to getting your banner ads to convert on your blog.
I'm not sure whether this has been discussed before but I wanted to go ahead and share my success anyway in the hope that some of you may benefit.
Anyway, I have been driving traffic to a blog for some time now and writing as much quality content as possible and making (a little) money through adsense but literally only a few dollars a week.
So I decided to try affiliate banner ads (basic I know) with very little success.
Yes they were relevant to my niche but still, they didn't convert.
So I decided that instead of placing these banner ads within just 'on my blog' I decided to place them right at the end of my blog posts.
But the key to the success I have been having is to make the banner ad directly relevant to the subject of the blog post.
So let's say I have written a really good informative post about membership sites and continuity programmes. I would then put an affiliate (or my own) continuity programme banner ad right underneath the post.
But the point of the post is to give QUALITY content. At no point do I mention the banner ad at the bottom. I'm not trying to sell them anything.
What happens here is that my readers absolutely love my content, they agree why having a continuity programme is immensely important to their business and they are 'warmed up' by the idea of having their own continuity programme.
They then see my strategically placed banner promoting a course on how to set up a continuity programme in 24 hours and they then sell it to themselves because they have just read, loved and agreed with everything I have written and they use all that information to justify their purchase.
Result? A MASSIVE improvement on conversions.
Easy!
Take care.
